First warm day of the year here (upper 70's). Yipee! After driving a while, no real hard driving but lots of stop and go (okay a few bursts but not too much!), I found the underhood quite warm. I can't say it is any hotter than previous, and the coolant temp was pegged at 200 the whole time.

The concern I have is the temperature of the fuel lines. They were all HOT! All parts of the fuel system into the fuel pumps, the pressure regulator and the line to the fuel rail. Should this be a concern, and if so what can be done about it? Insulation, etc. Thoughts? With all that fuel pressure I am somewhat concerned about a fuel system failure so any ideas to make it safer would be appreciated.

Bought some great heat shields from:

web page

They look great and cover the headers completely...Protecting fuel lines and other things from direct heat...I will get the headers jet hot soon to solve the heat problem period

Viper SRT:

I ran my system today for about 1 hour in 81 Degree temp. Did about 8 bursts during the outing. I did a throughout inspection since mine is fairly new. The fuel pumps were hot to the touch as well as the lines leading to fuel rails. The fuel regulator was warm but not hot. They did not appear intolerable however. Interesting thought about insulating some of the lines near the fuel rails.
