My new plate will be D500VPR for my '05 SRT10 convert. In the 50's the biggest Dodge engines were designated D500. Coincidentally, my Viper came with 505hp, but now has about 520-530 thanks to reflash and greens filters. Maybe other improvements in the works later, but I like history and Nostalga.

This thread made me think of something funny that happened back in the late 80's. A buddy and me borrowed this Fiero for a beer run one night- well a ways down the road some guys in a pickup truck started yelling at us and throwing beer bottles as us- we could not figure what the heck we did tho them...

Got to 7/11 and on the way back to the car saw the plates on the Fiero:

I just sent in for this in Ohio:

ASP_IRED

Rich,

I'll be curious to see if you get this plate. State of Ohio denied WILD ASP for me. Said it was offensive. I was so irritated I just went for the standard plate. Good luck!

Bob:

I got it! I tried for BAD ASP first, but they wouldn't allow that. FAST ASP was taken. I thought ASP IRED had a cool inspirational connotation anyway...

I THINK its the code for the Supra motor. :2tu:
Exactly. 2JZ is the motor that was in the last Supra exported to the US and seemingly the only competition at the drag strip in the last several years.

Very clever. Too bad 99.9% of the population doesn't know that piece of trivia. I am now firmly in the "don't-know-much-about-other-cars" stage of my life. I haven't picked up a car magazine in ions.
