Pics after Macedo\'s magic

I finally took some pics of the car after being at Macedo Motorsports for an engine rebuild as well as other work. Larry and Scott at M2 are second to none when it comes to quality, craftsmanship, and professionalism. It was an absolute pleasure to have worked with these guys and I could not be happier with the finished project. Everything on the car was meticulously done including the motor assembly which Larry personally does himself. For those of you not familiar with M2, you owe it to yourself to check them out no matter what type of upgrade you are looking for. You will walk away with a strong reliable car as well as a great new friend.

Finally lowered with Eibachs.

Water **** setup. Larry made a nice sturdy polished aluminum pan to set the container in.

Boost guage mounted on the column with shift light and water/**** light. The purge is located nicely in the drivers side crotch cooler (a/c vent)

Replaced the gas and voltage guages with fuel pressure and air/fuel guages. The wideband commander and stock guages were moved to the glove box.

Re: Pics after Macedo\'s magic

XSMPH - I had a slight bore and hone job done, new pistons etc. Since we had it appart, I went with M2 Stage 2 heads and cam. Larry tuned the car with only 300 break in miles so he did not push it. It put down just under 700rwhp and a little over 700rqtq. I now have more miles on it so we can fine tune and look at pushing the timing more.

WOT! - I got everything through M2. The guages are Autometer and the pods are Autometer standard/universal guage pods.

Toby - Thanks budy! You know you are always welcome to come visit her.

Mike - Thanks! I appreciate that coming from a guy with such a beautiful car himself.

Schulmann - Thank you. Eradispeed rotors, EBC greens, SToptech lines. So really no break system, LOL.

Man that looks good! Relocating the less used gauges is a great idea. If it is not a sore subject, did you do the engine rebuild due to blowing it with the SCer? Either way 700/700 is a great place to be.

I installed the s/c last fall and could not get rid of a detonating issue. Tried everything in the Roe manual and still could not get rid of it. It was so bad it sounded like a bucket of bolts in my motor as soon as it created boost.

So I decided to sent it to Larry for a custom tune and to see what the issue was. To make a long story short, the motor was full of carbon. Years worth. We came to the assumption that the original owner (before Toby) must have ran bad gas and didn't drive the car like he should of(only had around 11,000 miles). There was even some scaring on the cylinder walls. The carbon was most likely creating hot spots and igniting the fuel before the plugs. The problem was not apparent until boost was thrown at it. Anyway, Larry fixed her up real good.

Anyone looking to buy a low mileage viper with some years on it, you might want to have a compression and leak down test done for added piece of mind.

Re: Pics after Macedo\'s magic

Gary, VPRVENM97, Mopar 426, Casey, thanks guys. Larry gets all the credit.

XSMPH, 10lb pulley. I had already installed Jesel rockers and B&B headers before the s/c. It sounds crazy since there are 1000hp TT's running around, but the car pulls HARD! It is very hard to get traction in first and second, but if you get hooked up in third and lay into it, the car really pulls. The torque is awesome with the Roe. Between 1800-2000rpm, it already has 700lb-ft or torque. And the car sounds AWESOME with his head/cam setup. Loud, but powerful!

Any damage from detonating the original motor? I've heard they can take some pounding!
Thanks!
Enjoy!!!

No damage due to detonating. As soon as I heard detonation, I would get out of the gas. I only drove the car a handful of times like this while trying to diagnose the problem.

Carbon is what caused my damage.

Very SWEEEEEET !!!!

I like how the most crucial guages are in the dash and still the essential ones are in the glove box.

First, congrats on the incredible set up!

Second, I'm saving this post to show potential buyers of my 'high mileage' Viper (37K) . Of course, that could be tommorrow or years from now. These cars are meant to be driven.... :2tu:
