Well, in typical Robert fashion, here is a thread that will crash your internet. Sorry for the delay. It took a while to get all these edited and uploaded not to mention typing this all! I wanted to do a full coverage for those that did not make it to VOI.

This is my coverage of VOI 12!

VOI really started in Columbus, Ohio for me with the Grand Caravan and the loading up of banners, centerpieces, signs, etc for the dinners. As there were two empty trailers, we made use of them.

Next morning started with a drivers meeting and the cruise of Vipers from Columbus was underway!

At lunch we met up with another two caravans!

And we cruised as a group slowly getting bigger till we got to Charlotte!

Charlotte NC. What a pretty city. And the host hotel for the event would be the Embassy Suites. The entire hotel was taken over by VOI right down to the original body design we all looked at in SLC at VOI 11 in the lobby, banners from the walls, and even a projection of the logo on the floor!

The following days activities (Thursday) started with the drivers meet given by Herb Helbig and Dan Everts. My compliments to these guys. They did a great job!

The rest of the day consisted of washing cars and finishing prepping the cars from the trip down. Come evening though, the party started….

Part of the dinner is a few thank you awards to the region presidents, zone directors, board members, and people who have helped the VCA in various ways to keep the club going. A few samples:

Also something that was arranged by Randall Arnold of OH was a birthday celebration for Dominik that started as the banquet dinner concluded!

And after dinner, Viper Exchange arranged for Dominik to sign autographs.

And with the vendors pavilion coming to a close at the end of the night, it was time for bed!

Friday morning started with group A heading to the track and group B heading for the tour and cruise! I was part of group B so you will have to wait to see track pics till later! (Hey you! Stop skipping ahead and scrolling down! Have some patience! )
Now where was I…..Oh yes. The cruise!

First stop: The scenic park at the top of a mountain. The road up was beyond amazing! Switchbacks, turns, hills, dips….. I am sure there stories despite the 20 MPH speed limit!

With lunch done, next stop was Penske Racing where the Nascar Dodge’s are prepped:

So it was back to the hotel, quick clean up and back to the parking lot for the offsite dinner buses! Where were we going? The Nascar hall of fame. Closed down 100% for VCA. Too cool!

And by the end of the night we went back to the hotel, partied at the hotel bar, and then some people (who shall remain nameless….you know who you are!) went to bed at close to 2:30 am…. Animals.

Saturday morning! Group B’s turn at the track and photoshoot….. so up at 4:30 (What!? 4:30!? Yes, you read that right for a limited amount of crazy people who want front row of the photo shoot! ) and out to the track. But it would seem the weather god was not as kind to us as group A. We woke up to rain. And a lot of it!



We also found something sleeping at the track garages of Charlotte Motor Speedway!

With the shoot done, it was off to the Gen 5 and SRT drive!

In charge of the SRT Viper drive was none other than Mr Graham Henckel of SRT. Graham did a fantastic job of answering questions and keeping fights from breaking out when EVERYONE wanted to drive the yellow one!

Many of you keep observers would notice something. My car is wet! Yes, for the first time my car was rained on, and it was at VOI 12! (Still devastated btw in the event anyone cares. ) Ahem. But back to the story….

And with never having ones car in the rain before, I also learnt the traction limits of the tires! Now get out from under there you &^$% cone!!

Next up was lunch, or if you wanted, a ride in a Nascar stock car as well as a ride in a Mopar drift car driven by Dominik or Kuno. You can be dang sure I did not go for the food!

Next up was suppose to be drag racing, but with the rain dumping down, we headed back to the hotel and attended the SRT tech seminar. I do not have pics of this as SRT would hunt me down and make a Robert-skibob out of me.

Next up was the SRT dinner…..so we made like a baker and hauled buns over to the banquet hall!

Sunday was a semi free day where you could go back to the track, cruise, go to see the GTS-Rs, or even sleep. For those in group B that could not get out on the track in the rain, we went to the track first!

This what happens when your car is better than everyone else’s due to quality engineering…..they make you **** out of straws. My thoughts to you other manufacturers that require Viper to be slowed down so it is fair for you: Grow up and learn how to design epically cool sh*t like Viper! It rules and those restrictors is prime example. Vette you are a pansy too. You claim America's sports car and you need to cheat (by way of rules) to ensure you stay on top....sad.

And then it was back to the hotel for the final event of VOI 12. The Sunday Auction and dinner! All the items in the room were auctioned off!

And then out of no where Herb ran up and knocked Tom over and grabbed the mic while holding his bottle under his arm.…… No, he was not drunk, and he did not run up and grab the mic. He was actually talking about SRT Jack Daniels! (Sorry Herb....had to! )

And sadly that was the end of the event! Monday morning had the remainder of the people driving home. And if they were like me, the depression set in before the Charlotte city limits that it would be another 24 months before I would be at the giant family reunion that was call the Viper Owners Invitational…..


Thanks to all those that made VOI 12 possible (Yes including you Mary!)! I can’t believe the amount of time you all put into this! If you were not there, you REALLY missed out and need to make sure you are at VOI 13....where ever it may be!!
