Pictures of new Viper Violet 2008 color?

I saw a thread that showed a pic of the actual car that has the new Snake Skin Green color.

Does anyone have pic of an actual car done in Viper Violet?? Is it a metallic color, or...???

It seems really cool, and I think they've never done one in purple yet correct? Can't wait to actually see one all painted up!!

My understanding is that they have not yet produced a Viper Violet 2008 yet. I believe the color becomes available for ordering this fall.

They have to have sprayed it on something though. Does anyone from the factory post on these boards?

It would be nice to even see a close up of a panel sprayed in the purple color.

select the 2nd last color (Violet) and start customizing! I thought black stripes would have been an option, but it appears only white and graphite are.

The SRT site pics, appears Plum Crazy...this is a sample board from another thread, looks dark. Blue on the left and light blue in the middle and then Violet.

Are you saying that the violet on the right side there is THE ACTUAL color they're going to be painting it, or that someone somewhere said this might be the color, but in looking at compared to the SRT site this paint example looks too dark to be the actual color?

I agree that the purple in the photo looks darker than the purple depicted on the SRT website. And yes I've been to the site which is exactly why I want to see an actual pic of the color, since it's impossbile to determine from the computer graphic how it will really look on the car.

Purple are subject to so many hues and shades, it effects the car more than say a bunch of shades of red might.

Yes, the THIRD color (on the very far right) IS the actual color.

I do believe it will be metallic; I wouldn't be surprised if it became one of the most popular colors.

Search the Gen III forum; there is a thread that was active a few weeks ago that was begun, I believe by the VCA Treasurer (Chris Marshall?). He actually grabbed the paint chips posted above and compared them in various lighting conditions to existing cars, including a plum crazy Mopar muscle car. When comparing the new Viper Violet, it is clear that the new color is quite dark but has very obvious purple hues in brighter sunlight.

There was no auto manufacturer in the 60s/70s with more cool colors than Mopar.,

Plum Crazy
Sublime Lime light
Green Go/ Sassy green grass
Go Mango
Panther Pink
Hemi Orange

Cool, I found the thread that did the 'real world' color comparisons to the color swatches - http://forums.viperclub.org/showthread.php?t=602343&highlight=violet

So that gives a decent idea. Interestingly that Viper Violet still has quite a bit of blue in it when compared to truer purple colors. Should still look real hot though!!

So when can the purple car be ordered? I've heard some reports that it can be right now, and other reports that it can't be ordered until October?

I had a chance to at MCVO autocross last weekend to compare an actual color sample to a saphire blue (2001 viper color) car. Very similar, in any kind of shadow the color looks almost black. When in bright sun the sample was definately violet. It is not anything like the 1960's plum crazy. Tons of metalic and much deeper. Has a hint of blue in it also. I think car will look similar to saphire cars but will have violet/blue highlights that are more intense/brighter that the saphire cars. The viper violet cars will look awesome!! IMHO
Also noted the color looks nothing like the drivesrt.com site color.
