Here are some pictures of the ASC plant where the body panels for the Viper are made, painted, and finished. All this work is essentially done by hand, and you would not believe the finish work they do here. You really need to see this place in person in order to appreciate the finish work done here on your Viper. It is a hand built car from start to finish so to speak! the first one is Barry Matthiews who gave the tour, very helpful and informative person who really wanted to project his company as to the great quality of work being done!
This next one shows the body parts, some painted and baked, others prepped and ready for paint.
This next one shows all the Viper body panels in stock, I know they might be a little hard to see, but this part of the plant wasn't too well lit. Wouldn't you like to have some of these parts sitting in your garage?
This one shows some of the Indiana members during the presentation by Barry Matthiews.
This last one shows the hand work that goes into finishing the hood of the Viper. The guys in the foreground are sanding the hood with 2500 grit wet paper, and they spend up to 1 1/2 hours doing this. Then it goes to the rack behind them where you can see the other hood being buffed out and polished. Again about 1 hour of time there too. The finish is checked with a special device as to shine, imperfections, etc, and the machine rates it from 1 to 10. Vettes are rated at a 5-7, the Vipers get atleast a 9, before it is released to CAAP!
Again, you have to see this place in order to appreciate the amount of work that goes into each Viper here!
