I didn't even know they were on the road yet but I found one. I was on Pacific Coast Hwy. just north of Malibu when out of nowhere there was this red car 2 feet off my back bumper apparently in a playful mood. I saw the large scoop like a Maranello but it was a roadster complete with the tan hoops "A 550 BARCHETTA". What a beautful automobile, and when it pulled up next to me there was a woman alone driving. After going back and forth for 10 miles (man that car sounds great) the road opened up and we did a few 60-120 bursts, the Viper pulled her every time, not by much but enough to piss her off. Maybe the car was still a little tight but I had a whole lotta fun.

That sounds like fun. On the rare occasion I see a Ferrari around here, it's typically an older guy driving that doesn't want to play

Was it silver? If it was, I bet I've seen that exact Ferrari. There's only something like 449 550 Barchettas in the whole world. Symbolic Motors in La Jolla sold a silver one long ago. Here's a pic:

Yeah, a 550 Barchetta is about 20hp and 120 ftlbs shy of your car's power, and has about 300 lbs more to haul around, so it's understandable why you could pull on her.

Still, the 550 Barchettas are beautiful and rare cars. you are lucky to see one, and luckier that the driver was frisky to run.
