Pleasantly surprised by my registration fees

so glad we don't have these (only on real property, and those are high enough)

I'd love to see a website where you could input your salary, real property, imaginary property (cars, boats, etc.), and so on, and the have it spit out the cost to live in the various places - including Canada, Europe, etc.

The problem with taxes is they're so complicated, it's too hard to figure out exactly what you pay.

Texas has low registration fees, no property taxes except for real property, no income tax, reasonable sales tax, etc. There are so many buckets, it's hard to tell how much the government really takes - and it varies depending on what you have.

I can't imagine paying CA registration fees for a collection like Jay Leno. Surely it's a lot less for collector cars.

Last year I paid around 600 here in Cali for my 97 and this year was 250 I believe...I thought it was because my car was getting old...

snakem04: Man do I miss the Pennsylvania registration fees. I don't miss their inspection and emissions rules though.

I just got my registration "invoices:"
- '05 Dodge Viper SRT-10: $305
- '06 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR: $153
- '07 BMW 335i: $156

My insurance renewal is also coming up; October is an expensive month.

Man that stinks. I'm even luckier. I live in Monroe county. So no emissions here. Its great being able the run the car catless.
