It'd be interesting to see what airbox is on that car since the hood has no NACA duct - wanna bet it's still got a Gen II box? Doofuses.

Smoothie hoods NEVER came on GTS's. It would appear that it has had some sort of front end work. E-mail me the vin and I'll see what comes up on my list.

Also, the viper logos are missing from side of hood (repaint) and the small 3m clear gaurd is missing from the fascia (also could be due to a repainted front fascia).

I'm working on getting the VIN, I'll e-mail it or post it here, once I get it.

*I am not buying this car.
A guy just bought it and some people have pointed out a few 'flaws'...

I'm not questioning the repaint but isn't it possible that someone prefer the gen I hood to that of a gen II? I've seen pictures of people's gen I cars with gen II hoods so why couldn't it be done the other way?

ah i think the gen II is more functional and styling is alot better then gen I. cant see why anyone would go backwards. also if you look at one of the pics it seems like they ahve a car there thats is clipped in the front. seems like a body shot or some kind of repai shop.

Too much space between the hood and the headlights. Tailpipes are generic looking. Also, where the passenger side hood meets the rear view mirror pod looks out of line...could be the angle of the pic though.

I assume you're only referring to the hood, which I agree. You can't argue about sidepipes. All GenII owners wish Dodge had kept the sidepipes.

Looks like a car that has been in a very big wreck.

The major obvious things are wrong hood, horrible hood/facia alignment. Then there is also something very strange about the exhaust.

Speak for yourself. I would change nothing on the GTS. Rear exhaust looks cooler with huge tips like I have plus sounds alot better with rear entry exhaust. :headbang:

Does having new Dunlop Sport 8000 tires have any significance? (It's just that I don't recall them ever being discussed as a tire of choice here.) I have seen elsewhere that they were mentioned as the least expensive tires, and with a questionable hood and front fascia, it sounds like a cheapest way wreck rebuild.

No 3M tape on the front fascia was s GOOD catch.

YES, an under-the-hood photo would be most interesting (to see the intake).

Didn't they make one GTS with a smooth hood? I think a guy in Austin owns it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I stand corrected Dennis. Now that I think about it..I asked Bill P. when I bought it and he said they don't come with them on a '01...unless I want to order a pair and cut my own slots in the fascia that hold the tabs to keep them in. I decided not to do that. OOOps...like my grandfather always said.."if you don't learn something every day..it's a wasted day!"

Fog light covers up until 1998, then gone in 1999 (1st year of the ACR) to 2002, rt/10 & GTS.
