I know that some of you are using the Polk Momo speakers in the door panel. I got a pair of their MMC650 and before I start the installation I'd like to tap your experience.
Where did you mount the included inline crossovers? Is there room in the door?
Can one eliminate the crossover and hook the existing tweeter wires to the Polk speaker tweeter input? Is this wise?
Any installation tips will be appreciated.

you MUST use the crossovers for best sound!, I used the polk in my rear speakers, & cerwin vega on the doors, I glued the crossover with rtv to the door panel in the area below the handle , it has worked great.

You must use the crossover !! If you parallel the speakers with the tweeter, and send the lower frequencies to the tweeter, you can, probably will, knock out (break) the tweeter. The fragile tweeter will distort and, as I said, probably break. There is one exception to this and that is to use a piezo tweeter. It is basically a crystal which allows only frequencies above a certain level to pass. In my opinion these are a little harsh, but are quite widely used in speaker systems of lesser cost.

I wouldn't recommend crossovers in the door. They are exposed to much less slamming and jarring if mounted under the dash (there's actually room). It won't matter for those of you with the GTS, but the crossovers in my RT/10 that were installed several years ago were ruined due to moisture getting inside. There should be plenty of wire to put them securely inside the car.
