I like the Gen III also, but did not want to pay the $1,700 / rim to make a straight trade across from Gen II to Gen III. So I took the 2001 Gen II and machined them out and had them polished. For now, I get to be the only one.

:2tu:   Gerald,

Never screw with a machinist. ;) I clicked on your avatar, and I measured your 17 inch rims and ratioed them to the clearance between the top of your rim and your fender, and with calipers it looks like the measurement is 6.667 inches from the top of your rim to the underside of your fender.

I measured mine in the picture you are refering to, and the ratio comes out to 6.19 inches. I agree, my car needs to be lowered, but it looks like yours is higher than mine....

:D

Just kidding of course. I want to lower mine, but it seems no matter where you go you always rub the fron air dam.....

Mines lowered about 1 1/2 to 2".. Just cut the springs. 2nd viper with cut springs and have had 0 issues. IMO all vipers should be lowered about 1 1/2" they look SO much better.... ;) That avatar is old.... When I 1st got car.. Been lowered for about 4 years..

Gerald,

I have been thinking about it alot, and wonder what shocks did you go with. Did you just cut the springs, or did you change the shocks also. I don't want to sacrifice ride comfort too much either. Plus, I looked at your avatar again, and I am wondering why you did not "Raise" your car. I mean it says you live somewhere near Tampa, and with all those hurricanes... ;-) Who did the work on your car?

I think if the GenII wheels where available in 20's for the rear and 19's for the front, I'd have some pretty cool bling factor.

Hey John, good to hear from you. I met several folks at VOI8 that had nothing but trouble with their Roe setups. Mainly around heat issues that took additional $$$ to work around. Although there are plenty of success stories, like our own Bob D., I am having second thoughts on getting forced induction. I'll save up for one of the 2006 Viper coupes or get smart and invest in something that doesn't depreciate :(
