Neither, but can't help to wonder how the viper would have been killed if they were driving one. The media would headline "Viper kills Paul Walker" then it would go on as why the viper horrendous handling is the culprit. Haven't we heard this before! So now we have "Porsche owner" kill Paul Walker instead. The GT with all of its reputation and a professional driver at the wheel went up in flames. Goes to show you, if you don't respect the machine it will bite you. RIP..PW we"ll miss you."Porsche owner" kills Paul Walker? Was it a ****** suicide? Dooshbag on your 9th post.

Actually, the media IS doing this with the Porsche CGT. I have heard at least two anchors saying: "we're hearing reports that the car (the GT) is a "difficult" car to drive, even for a professional driver."
From what I've read as well, the car has exchanged hands 6 times, they had just bought it. My guess is the car had old tires on it. No traction + high speed turn = disaster.Just heard on the news today that scene investigators suspect that the porsche's power steering unit failed catastrophically, as there was a slick of fluid on the ground leading up to the impact point but no skid marks. Not a fluid leak; an outright rupture which would probably have caused the steering wheel to lock up.

The people claiming it was "a failure of the car" are from the org that owns the car, AE. My guess is they are trying to place blame on Porsche, seeing as the insurers of the F&F7 movie will be out for money to recoup their loss.
Sort of adds up with the "no skidmark" comments many are making.I fear you may be right. My first thought as well was "tires". Even in SoCal, if the tires weren't warmed up, there could have been a traction issues. This hits home for many of us, especially those of us who attend shows and charity events like that. I've seen many people "peel out" of car shows. This just simply awful , and my prayers to the their families.
CNN has a very inflammatory (IMO) front page article this morning about the Carrera GT. Interesting, that everything they say about the car you could say about the Viper (through Gen 4) as well. The article has a very "anti-sports car" slant to it.
I have driven one. The clutch is the most difficult in the context of a launch that I have ever encountered. It is very sensitive. The car is a beast - in a good way - like the Viper. It, as does the Viper before the Gen V, definitely requires an advanced driving skill set to drive it safely at speed.
