Okay, this can't be that hard.
Who is going to make a power trunk mechanism so we do not have to get out of the car twice to put the top down.

Since they make remote power doors on a number of vehicles, this can't be that hard.

Anyone else interested if we can arrange this?

It may be that hard, depending on how much weight it will add?
I'd have to say, I'm not interested in such a weight-adding feature.
The car weighs enough as it is.

Those might do the trick... but you have to make sure there's some safety mechanism.... in case fingers, arms, etc are lurking during the choreographed closure.

Really don't need the extra weight. If you wanted a funky top mechanism, there's a Mercedes SLK that is pretty trick... I am just happy to have a real convertible. I don't think there is any way you'll see an automatic, power funky opening and closing ANYTHING on the Viper in Herb's lifetime.

Thanks, Herb.

The SL500 has a nice power top - that is not what I am looking for. I just want something that will lift the trunk once I unlock with FOB so that I can manually put down top and then it will close trunk afterwards. I believe the actuator only weighs a couple of pounds and then you could actually manually put down top while on the road instead of having to get out if the car twice. Maybe the sun is always shining in the south so this isn't an issue, but around here I think this feature would be awesome.

Actually I think it's the other way around - up there, you'll probably only get to drop the top once or twice a year, so you won't have to get out of the car much, but down here, it'd be much more frequent, so such a trunk mechanism would be more useful here ;)

;) ;) ;)

Actually 5 or 6 times :D

At least we don't have any real snow to deal with like the US East Coast. Supposed to be in the mid 40's later this week - I could get that top down as long as I'm wearing the toque and gloves
