Price for an 05 SRT?

What's a reasonable buy/sell (non-dealer and dealer) price for a good condition 05 (non-mamba) silver SRT with ~30k miles on it?

it's got an MGW knob.....I'd say $40,050.00 is a bit more realistic.

Yes, I saw that, someone really bought that car right...with the car market down and winter coming I just don't know what would be a fair price on an 05 with higher mileage but would just guess lower 40's. [i would have said upper 40's just several months ago]

30k miles is considered high for most buyers which i disagree is high miles.gen 3 vipers never did really hold there values maybe they will in the next few years if viper is no longer made.

On Ebay this 2003 red 03 has 5k miles with buy it now at $37,900. It was titled as prior salvage from seller before this one.

This 2003 in our classifieds is $41,900

Or get a heffner supercharged also in our classifieds for $47,000

Or this 2005 with a buy it now for $46,900 and 27k miles on ebay

Welll you can get at least what someone publically states they will sell an actual car to you ... so here is some info...

Well when people are in a bind and have to pay a mortgage and put food on the table the Viper "name" isn't really a priority. It *****, but the economy is in the toilet.

If you're in a bind...you should NOT buy a Viper. Most V owners are a lot better off financially than the average joe, and have the spare cash to play with.

A lot of people bought them when they were weren't in a bind. I've seen people with great balance sheets and spare cash see all that go away quickly with stock and job market declines. I feel lucky to have been able to pick up an 06 coupe for a great price.

I also see a lot people buying Vipers (and other exotics) when they really shouldn't. But, who are we to judge

Some average joes buy what they want with some struggle to do so.Not everyone has to be "WELL OFF" to have what they enjoy.They just work harder and might have to give it up under bad situations.

Thanks for the info, I'm trying to make some decisions on my current car. I intentionally left out some info so as to not sway the information provided. I had bought my 98, but I got the 05 nearly 3 years ago under a lease for business reasons at the time and because I wanted some "insurance" against the Viper value going down (i.e., at the end of a lease, if the "buy it" price is favorable, great, then buy it, but if it is too high compared to the market, then I could just turn it in) as I knew the Gen 4 would be coming out and might result in lower value for the Gen 3. Because of the downturn in the economy and the depressed Viper prices, I may turn it in and buy another Viper, or attempt to negotiate with the lease company (who I am sure is not interested in having a Viper now, and might be willing to make a deal).

Has anyone done any negotiations to buy a leased vehicle at a lower price? Any tips?

What's the current wholesale value on an 05 SRT (non-mamba) with 30k miles? Presumably that's what a lease company would be looking at selling it for, if it had to take it, and would be the bottom end on what I could negotiate them down to.

I agree with that statement. $38K to $42K at most with this economy and $40s will probably be very hard.

30,000 miles is ALOT of mileage for an '05 (according to Viper standards).Just for a comparison I was offered low 50's for my '05 but it only has 5,700 miles.

Leasing companies don't have "gap" policies, in the past some carried residual insurance but most residual insurance carriers blew up. Even if they do, the insurance company would pay based on market value and the market value would be at auction.

Call your lender and see if they'll discount the residual, the bigger and smarter ones do if they feel there is a measurable difference between the residual and market. The problem is they probably don't take too many vipers to the auction so they might not know the residual vs. wholesale value. Ask some viper dealers what they'd pay for your car at auction. Use that information to make them an offer. Or, ask them the auction they'll send the car to and get a dealer to bid on it.
