Are you serious.....if you are, I am embarrased for you.....
So..... if I bought the car at a shiny dealer in a 'high rent" district from a "beautiful person" salesperson and posted that I paid $70k (for the exact same car) it would be cool?....Wait, you said you "wouldnt trust" what a dealer told you either. I had the car checked out at a dealership, "car fax"," auto chek", "dealer check", Performance by Joe, JMB Performance and Pauls Autoworks (Viper Body shop). Is there someone else that your " trusted source" might have checked? What is a "known" viper anyway?
I want to apologize in advance for what might be interpretted as arrogant statements. It is not my intention to sound like a JO but I would like to respond to Colovipers unsubstantiated...."statements".
Well......This is a perfect example of "talking out your asp"
First, The 06 Viper in question is one of three vipers I own; All I can "afford" are;
-01 "Diamond-back" Sapphire GTS 800= rwhp ( see posts above)
-01 Sapphire RT-10 with 7000 miles
-06 Red/silver stripe Coupe..Soon to have be the first "Street Serpent Coupe" With other options, wheels tires suspension...additional $20K That should make you happy $70 K for an 06...
-07 Sapphire GMC crew cab p/u
-03 BMW X5
-two car trailers (rollback and standard)
-Scat trac Dunebuggy
-two Kawasaki 4x4's
I use these vehicles at my second residence, my 800 acre farm (40 miles outside STL.) with two three BR. houses and six lakes (canoes, paddleboats etc)
-30 ft Douglass Skater offshore race catamaran, with two "punched out" mercury EFI SS outboards (Top speed-118 mph)
-28 ft. Premier pontoon boat with two 150 h.p. outboards
-two Kawasaki and one Sea Doo wet bike (3)
All these vessels are in their own slip, on lifts, at my third residence, a 6500 Sq. ft., 6 bedroom condo, overlooking the "Lake of the Ozarks".
I keep my cars at my main residence, on Benpak lifts, in my attached 5 car garage...
Best of all, I have the titles to everything. That means PAID FOR... I am 49 years old BTW
My grandfather, that founded the 60 year old Construction company I am now president of, had a saying...."Pennies make Dollars". My day starts at 3:30 a.m. and ends at about 6:30 pm. I work too hard to throw money away, especially if I can take the initiative to do some extra research on my own to find the "deals".
My car broker buddies explain it like this. What do you think happens to rep'd cars (not the ones snatched in the middle of the night) bankruptcy, divorce, estate sales etc, the good cars. There are sales (with Vipers) for vehicles that belonged to DC execs. Most of the reputable sales will give you the phone number to talk to the previous owner of the car. They are not all "shady". I "followed" this car for 6 mos. waiting for him to sell it. This car is an exceptional deal...one in a million, But I had to work to find it.
One last thing, where did you get all the info. about my car to make all your presumptions and statements? That is one helluva "trusted source" you use...
Again, My sincere apologies for the possible impression of arrogance from my previous statements. that was/is not my intention. Just proving a point..
