I have a April 12 appt with Chuck Tator for some add ons. ? is who has the best prices on these S/C. I am leaning towards Seans system, but Blown GTS #'s and times are quite impressive. Any suggestions???

Sean uses a screw-type compressor, vs. Paxton's fan-type (if I'm using the right terms).

Basically the Paxton method heats the air more, hence the added need for an intercooler to match Sean's performance. Plus, you have to replace the front crossmember when doing a Paxton.

IMHO, Sean is the way to go, Paxton is only an option if you are budget-short, or you just don't want to loose the look of the intake... but some have painted their Roe Charger red, and I think that looks GREAT!

As for the best pricing on a Roe... I'll let someone else chime in on that.

Doesn't the centrifugal type generate slightly more horsepower vs. more low end torque with the screw?

The roe is about 7 grand. I put one on mine and it looks really nice. The quality is awesome and the install instructions are perfect. You also have Sean on the other line to call. The Roe is easy to return to stock if you ever plan to sell.

Good luck.

Rob, I thought you already tried that screw type? Or was it another unit with the knock issues?

Some other differences between the two types... the screw type builds to full boost at very low engine rpm, while the centrifugal types build boost in direct relation to engine rpm.

I am not sure about the various centrifugal systems, but the Roe unit can be removed pretty quickly if need be. Nothing has to be modified for the installation, so you can sell the car without the supercharger and have no damage and/or evidence that the car was blown.

you guys talking about ROE S/C  in one word "ITS AWESOME" no intercooler and low boost and see what its doing out there, imagine an intercooler higher boost and there you go, you can't go wrong with Roe S/C and SapphireGTS he is right Sean is always there to backup his products. :2tu:

I don't have a Roe S/C yet (soon to be available)...but I use to have a vortec on my 5.0 and it was ok. I have heard great things about the Roe S/C and the potential are limitless. My friend has a Roe S/C on this 2000 GTS and he only has headers/exhaust, 50lbs injectors (I think that is it) he runs 10.77 in HI, so that makes it like low 10s in the states (track conditions such here). But the best part is that I have heard great things about Sean from the people that know him. I think he is working on an aftercooler system for his S/C.

Okay, I am going to chime in here, I like the Paxton set up (nothing to take away from the roe), but what I don't like about the paxton set up is the support that Paxton gives towards it. Paxton does give me the support when something breaks...that is great but as far as knowledge on the set up and how it interacts with the Viper v-10, I haven't seen too much knowledge base on that. I have had to learn as I go. Now on the other hand, Roe may have not been the way I wanted to go because I wanted to keep the plenum look on the viper, but what's nice about the roe set up is that sean knows his system inside and out and the support behind it is everywhere. I guess it just depends on what you are looking for. They are two different systems.

The nice thing about centrifugals is that boost is proportional to the rpm**2 resulting in big boost when then engine is way past max BMEP which is a good idea with crap gasoline.

Any positive displacement supercharger runs out of breath just like an engine. There have been extreme designs where they supplement these systems with turbos or centrifugals to get the top end back. Of course, this is Mad Scientist stuff.

Sean Roe is the way to go

I wholeheartedly ditto the above. My Viper is a street Viper that sometimes goes to the track - I need my torque at the RPMs I turn in everyday driving, not at the top end of the RPMs. Sean should be Dr.Viper for all his knowledge about Vipers and the great way he treats everyone, customers or not.

When I was installing mine I had a question. Sean told me to call with any questions. I gave him a ring and he helped me out while driving a moving van from his old shop to his new shop and was very anxious to answer my simple but critical question.

I had a paxton on my bronco. I had some problems figuring out sparkplug gap and they werent super helpful. The Roe kit was built for the viper by a viper nut and is very complete. It even comes with new plugs! Im sure you cant go wrong with either kit but Sean is good at what he does.

That may be true, but these are BIG block engines and not rev happy 4-bangers, you run these V-10s way up into the RPM band and you are looking for trouble. Many of the fast Nitrous boyz shift their cars below 5000 rpm. My car will run right up to 6000 rpm with no trouble, never runs out of breath or boost, but above that RPM I would consider doing a build up on the motor, as many of the centrifugal guys do. I have been happy with my Roe, my car can be driven anywhere and any distance. Good luck with your choice.
