I've not had problems with mine. I always put it in first then reverse gear. Bad habit from the rock crusher days.

What's going on with Hockey?

Sounds like you might be experiencing the early stages of the old pressure-plate-bolts-backing-out issue. It happened to me twice and to others here on the board. If that's it, soon you'll have difficulty getting into any gear and eventually it will become impossible. The fix is easy--LocTite. Here are a couple threads on the issue, although if you search for "pressure plate" or "flywheel" on the SRT board, you'll find others as well.

It may also be a problem with the reverse-lock-out solenoid.

I had the fuse go out that is on the reverse-lock-out solenoid circuit. All of a sudden, it was really really hard to get into reverse. Took two hands.
Fixed the fuse and was back to normal.

I got a check engine light when the fuse went. If it's just a solenoid problem, however, you may not get a light.

easy way to tell if it is solenoid related, or if it is pressure plate related:

-Is the shifter hard to push to the RIGHT?
If so, then it it is a solenoid or electrical problem.

-Is the shifter hard to push UP into gear?
If so, then it leans towards the pressure plate, or another clutch related problem.

I had the same problem after I SMOKED the clutch at the track. Then it got worse thereIi could not shift gears, it turned out to be the throw/out bearing. I also changed the master and slave hydraulic clutch cyl but that wasent the problem

good luck

I have the same exact problem. It was after I had the new clutch put in. It takes two hands to get the shifter over to reverse. All forward gears are easy as they have ever been, only reverse is difficult. I asked the trans. shop, what he did that was different, and they said it can only hook back up one way. I've been meaning to find out about this. It actually takes twice the pressure to get in reverse as it did before I had the clutch put in. I didn't know about there being a selonoid that has something to do with this. I just thought he may have hooked the shifter differently, but then it would have affected the way the forward gears felt I thought. What could have happend.

This is a new one on me.
