If you would have bought a Gen 1 car you would not have this problem!!

Seriously though, my brother just sold his 96 GTS and I never heard the window glass rattle. Does it track up and down okay via the window switch?

Someone else who is more qualified than me will hopefully chime in

If you have an extended warranty on the car - this issue is covered - Had both doors done on my 96GTS - I believe the replace the window rail that carries the glass.

PTB97GTS,

Ouch, I dyno'd Max Power at rear wheels: 389.5
Max Torque at rear wheels: 457.5. (Not bad for a windowless Gen I car!!) You can see the dyno sheet in my 1/23/01 post under the Race/Dyno section if truly interested!!

I would certainly take it to the dealer if still under warranty. Sorry, I know these "extra" noises can be bothersome!! Best of luck.

I just had this problem with my 98 GTS on the driver side. I had lots of rattling with the window down. As it turns out there is a rubber track in the front part of the door that the front of the window slides up and down in. The track is not held in place with any fasteners so sometimes when rolling the window down the glass grabs the track(instead of sliding through it) and pulls the track out with the track ending up on the bottom of the door. If you take off the door panel, reach into the door to retrive the track it is a simple matter of pushing the track back into place through the top front of the window opening. To help prevent the window from grabbing the track again spread some lube (silicon etc.)in the groove on the track before pushing the track back in place. When I described this rattle to my tech he knew right away what the problem was and I watched him do the above fix in 15 minutes. Hope this helps.
