I just wanted to let everyone know again that DC Performance is offering Computer Calibrations and Hand Held Programmers for Vipers and Viper Truck. 1992-1995 Vipers calibrations can only be done in house (you send us your computer). We can build a calibration for almost any engine specific setup.

We can program your controller, provide you with a new re-programmed controller or send you a programmer that allows you to do it yourself.

For those of you who currently have SCT programmers, we can e-mail you calibrations too load.

I know there are many tuners now on the Market. I think what sets DC Performance apart is our reputation as pioneers in the Viper tuning market. We have been doing this in house for over 5 years. We provide customer service and Tech support for all we do.

Guys, I have to tell you that Dan along with Chuck Tator provide the best customer support after the sale that I have ever experienced. They are the best!

Dan, what are you doing in regards to a programmer for people who previously bought your ECM Tune on their existing or new ECM? Do you offer an upgrade?

I think one of the vendors needs to do a nice writeup of this device with real results, clear explanations of use, what it does, dyno sheets, etc.. There are surely many people on the fence for the SCT Calibrator. It may go on my Christmas list this year, but I need to know that it's actually worth doing. I never plan on going FI, but may do RRs and Headers down the road. If the car runs better, smoother and I get a little extra juice, then I can see doing it.

I will prepare a write up about the SCT programmers with all the information you have requested.

Dan...would you mind comparing the SCT to the Vec2/3? i.e. what can the Vec do that the SCT can't do and vice-versa. Thanks! - Tony

Dan, what numbers could I expect on my 94 with headers, smooth tubes, high flow cats and exhaust if I were to get my computer programed?

Thanks,
Bryan

I purchased on of these for my 2006 Coupe with a bolt-on Paxton. The Paxton is the ONLY mod.

I was never happy with the car since the fuel curve was real fat at higher RPM's (Just when you need it!). Since I plugged and played, this car is like a totally different beast. No more lag and it does not lay down at all until you do 3 or 4 good runs at full power and it gets hot. Lower RPM's are a dream. This thing now runs like it should.

I would highly recommend this for all Paxton cars and I was not paid for this endorsement.

Does the current SCT programmer have 'PC based' software where-in the owner can program several parameters; simliar to something like HP Tuners or EFI Live (GM tuner software). Or is the owner programmable features primarily accessable via 'yes/no/preset ranges' type questions on the SCT programmer LED screen?

Specifically, can the owner custom program timing based, say rpm & load, along with programming fueling, commanded air fuel ratio, idle rpm, redline, fan on/off, STFT/LTFT, etc....plus viewing & logging options.

I appreciate your feedback.....I am SO looking forward to a true owner/user tuning option beyond the VEC or PCM R&R flashing.

Thanks !

Thanks for the response,

In regards to the Gen 1 Vipers. To calibrate your engine controller we will need your computer, a list of your modifications and a dyno sheet (with air fuel readings) to make a program. Some early computers
(1992-1994) may require us to modify them for a programmable chip. These engines tend to require more fuel in the upper rpm range, if you have engine modifications like cylinder heads and camshaft changes, you may require an injector change as well as a calibration. If you are just adding headers and air intake, a calibration is not needed.

In regards to the 1996-2006 Vipers (including Gen 1 1996 Viper). There are many options for tuning your car. In reference to the posts I will stick to the SCT programmer, the VEC 2-3 and in-house programming of your controller.

With the SCT programmer we can supply you with 3 calibrations for your modifications. There are no end user adjustments, but we can e-mail you changes to the tune. With the VEC 2-3, you can make adjustments to your car on the dyno or by driving the car and making changes and verifying the results.
This requires you to have knowledge of how to make the changes or work with Roe Racing to supply you with the program cards. For those who want to do the tuning, this is a good option. If you supply us with your modifications and dyno sheet, DC Performance can program your computer and send it back to you. We have calibrations for bone stock engines to highly modified engines (proven). We just need your information.

Please feel free to call,

Hey Dan, if I've already got the SCT what would you charge to dyno tune the car and put a custom flash in my SCT for me?

Hi Dan,

Can you please provide me with a price for the SCT "Pro-Racer" version with the software and programer, I think it has a street price of around $1400.

Thanks

Jason
