PS hoses

I'm considering building a SS braided hose for the high pressure side of the PS. Anybody got any opinions on this? Would the SS retain too much heat causing the hose to fail sooner or would it act as insulation and preserve the hose? Maybe run solid line for the section near the header then switch to braided for the remainder?

Thoughts?

For those who don't know, the pressure hose is very close to the headers and thus reduces the life of the hose. I've replaced two on my 35K mile track Viper. I've yet to replace one on my 100K+ 98 but will be doing so soon just for peace of mind.

What about just wrapping automotive foil insulation around it?

Did the same thing for my track car. No issues yet.

Sounds like insulation would be the cheapest and quickest solution. I'll try it.
