The BFGs are great tires, regardless of what anyone here posts.

Ron

+1 for the price you can almost get 2 sets of G-force for the cost of 1 set of PS2. Then you can do some serious:drive:n

Explaining Viper things to you
That was mounted, lifetime balance, lifetime road hazard, Indiana Tire disposal fee, and all sales and other taxes due in Indiana.

They have and additional mounting charge for low profile tires.

Price them on Tirerack, add shipping, 3 year road hazard,(not lifetime) mounting and balancing and taxes it was close.Plus there is not a local mounter for TireRack the closest would be over 60 miles away. It's not like I could load the tires in Viper and take them in to be changed.

It's only money and not worth the hassle.
The way I dive the Viper the BFG's will be fine and a $1000 less.

This. I love whereas the physical product price is good, but the final installed price is no different than a local price. Minus, um, the hassle.

I bought my first set of PS2's from a VCA vendor when I bought the wheels. Kind of icing on the sale if you will. Well, I caught a nail in the sidewall of one of them 335/20's - 50% tread left - with of course no road hazard warranty. Two replacements from Discount Tire with all the taxes road hazard blah blah $1295. In 2 days. Any vendor match that deal? Any vendor offer road hazard on mail order tires?

The BFGs are great tires, regardless of what anyone here posts. I've had mine on for almost a year and wouldn't consider the overpriced Mich's unless I got them for the same price.

Calling them a "weaker sister" is irresponsible Jon.

Ron

Irresponsible? Is it irresponsible for auto-mags to test tires and report results?

Any new tire is "better" than aged, old hockey pucks. And driving awy with new rubber will 'feel' better even to a rookie. So BRAVO to an owner who ditches 6+yr old Sports with good remaining tread, and puts on ANY new rubber.

But it is truly irresponsible (and false) to suggest that the BFG tire comes close to the handling and performance and wet-safety of a PS-2. It Does Not.

There are ten factors in tire buying.... if you rank PRICE as the key important factor, then skip the PERFORMANCE and traction and wet safety factors of the costlier PS-2, and buy BFG. You get what you paid for. But please dont say Im somehow 'irresponsible'.....maybe I was a bit flippant with 'weak sister'? We DO offer BFGs with confidence as a budget-driven option.

PS. $2175 for locally-mounted 18" PS2s that could have been delivered to the owner in Indiana for about $1650, means that the tire store collected $525 in taxes, fees, mount-balance services and a warrantee. Seems a bit steep to me....

TireRack Does......

And I am told that AMERICA'S TIRE STORES will sell you a road hazard warranty on new and like new tires bought elsewhere......just bring them in for inspection, or pay for Mt-balance, and you can buy a warrantee there.

Pretty smart of them, really..........

skip the PERFORMANCE and traction and wet safety factors.

Now you're being totally irresponsible, I got copied and pasted the above phrase right out of your own statement, "THESE ARE YOUR WORDS"!!!:lmao:

You obviously totally missed the meaning of what he wrote. Which was a bit more than you copied and pasted.

Read it again:

"if you rank PRICE as the key important factor, then skip the PERFORMANCE and traction and wet safety factors of the costlier PS-2, and buy BFG."
