As you may or may not know, Viper Parts America is back ordered for the Gen 3/4 PS2's till the end of Sept. (they hope) I went to TIRE RACK and found out that the PS2 fronts for the Viper are on closeout and they dont have any more.

What is coming down the road for us??? KUMHO's are going away, I don't know what to think on the PS2 situation...

Does anyone know whats going on?:omg::dunno:

If they are running out of the PS2's in rear tire sizes, hopefully that means the Pilot SS will be coming out in our size soon. They weren't going to bring it out with for us with a bunch of PS2's sitting in the warehouse.

The other thing that I noticed and didnt mention in my prevvious post is that they raised the prices on the PS2 rears again.

I have the Pilot Super Sports on my 09 and believe they are a far superior tire to the PS2's.

They are lighter, stickier, longer lasting, smoother and quieter running.

They go straight down the road and do not follow groves like the PS2.

I am running 19/20 wheels, and they make the appropriate sizes.

If these become available in standard Viper sizes, I think they will become a very popular choice to replace the PS2.

you can exspect tire prices to keep getting raised, big politicians are doing this, not the tire company

no it's actually the cost of raw materials causing the price increases in the tire industry

here's a couple of recent articles regarding pricing issues

I have a brand new set of Kumhos for the rear in the classifieds for $745 shipped if on the east coast. They are going away, but are probably the best rubber around for the price.

God I hope they don't switch over to Pirelli's. My business partner HATES the Corsa R's on his Superlaggera. There is a lot of hype on the new Trofeo but I'm not sure there are out yet. I know he couldn't get any and ordered some full P Zero slicks. Maybe Pirelli was the official tire for the event???

Had pirelli's on my SRT10 RAM and they so totally sucked I had to get them off at 4000 miles. Absolutely no traction, especially bad in the rain.

I warned the guy I sold my Pirelli tires to that they were NOT for aggressive driving. What a POS those Pirelli PZero Rosso tires were. If that is our choice, I think I will build my own wooden wheels. :p

Dodge is under new ownership, and has changed from Mobile 1 for their oil.

Maybe they are also looking for different tire suppliers.

The Viper faithful have been very loyal to Mobile 1 and also Michelin. Do not believe these changes will be well recieved, but don't think SVT will change loyal suppliers without a good reason.

On a side note, my 09 now rides on new Pilot SuperSports. As far as I can tell they are a superior tire in every way to the previous Pilot Sports 2 tires. Maybe there is a reason we are not privledged to to explain why they are not available in standard Viper fitments.

I hated the pirelli p zeros on my car. Only had 2500 miles and I went to PS2s. What a difference. I love this tire.

Can only imagine what a SS is like. :)

As for SRT, maybe they prefer the Italian brand as they have more experience with them???

I have found that usually these types of decisions are based pretty much on $$$. The new vendors are giving them a better deal, simple as that.

Luke, do you ship BFGoodrich KDW's for Vipers to Canada? I've BFGoodrich Rugged Trails shipped from you for my Navigator before ,but not sure if you do the Viper specific ones above the 49th !

Does it really surprise anyone that we'll see Pirelli's on the new Viper??

Of Course Not! Fiat's investment ( and national pride ) would suggest a look at Pirelli. Their huge investment in F1 and a new competition tire division says only good things to me. Michelin PS2 and PSS is a high bar.... I hope and suspect this is not just a case of "Lowest Bidder"

SRT will still demand some intense lateral Gs.... they always have, since 1990. I have an original Michelin-Advertisment touting the research and develpment
