MadMaxx-you have a GEN1 motor. Maybe Sean will come out with one for the GEN1's?

Sean..love the idea, looks great. I have never been more interested in a bolt-on mod. I was wondering about possible issues in durability not only for the blower but the engine, pistons, etc. And, are the gains posted accurate for all Gen 2s? Finally, for those of us with only tubes, filters, and slight exhaust mods....what should we expect? Thanks!

ODB1 should be more friendly than 2. If it's a late gen1 motor then the headgasket issue shouldn't be a problem. Was it the pistons that would be an issue w/ a blower? Cast or forged?

Sean already stated that when he is done with the trial and error stuff he was going to take the SC off and install it on his Gen I. This was weeks ago. I don't want to speak for Sean and I am sure he will chime in here but Gen I testing will soon begin if it already hasn't. If the 96 RTs are Gen I where is that additional HP coming from? I thought all Viper pistons were the same (forged) up until they did the cream puffs.

FUSCUCLA1: The 96 RT has rear exhaust and that accounted for the extra 15hp I believe. It is a Gen 1 engine.

I would definitely be interested in one should one come available for a Gen I motor as well.

Either way, Looks like great power gains for a great price> Very Cool!!!

The only issue on the Gen 1 is the location of the alternator.
Everything else is easy. The Gen 1 even has a higher volume fuel pump already.

Regarding the question of "when", it will be when I can put one of the new manifolds on the GTS and not have to use the prototype any more. I expect some issues to overcome with alternator relocation or idler pulley configuration.

Definitely would be a torque monster.

Sean, I will be willing to take leave(vacation) and drive my 96 R/T to Jacksonville so that you can use my car as a prototype(just so you don't have to have two SC cars)

My real concern about your S/C is the extra heat in a road-race application. Since it's a roots blower there's no possibility for intercooling and I'm concerned about added underhood heat and fuel/air heating under the stress of 45 minutes of WOT on a hot Texas summer day. Know what I'm talkin about?

I know 5 psi isn't much as S/Cs go, and for a few blasts down the dragstrip I'm sure there's no durability impact, but I have real questions about the road course. How much testing have you done in that area?

Hi Eric,

There's room for an air charge cooler inside the intake manifold (under the blower discharge port). That handles the air temp issue. For the blower temperature, they can be plumbed, relatively easily, into the stock oil cooler to engine return line for a steady supply of cool oil.
One of the reasons we chose the particular brand we did was precisely because it has a good durability reputation in road race use. However, we have not done any track sessions on our test car, since it has the standard system without the upgrades. We won't do any track (road course) testing until we get those parts setup. Not necessary for street, autocross drag racing use.
