Put a modded GTS in it\'s place last night.

I was in Newport Beach last night and saw a black GTS in my rear view mirror. I waited for him at the light, he told me "I have $10000 into my engine, don't waste my time trying to run me." I followed him till he got to the 55 N. Then you could say he got a good <font color="red"> </font> look at the back end of my 2003 SRT-10..lol

Good kill. At Viper prices $10,000 doesn't mean much, and who knows? It may have been a Hennesseyy "special". But I'm sure he enjoyed the SRT's ass... it truly is a beautiful car.

I call B.S, even with full exhaust,the 2 cars are at the same power level. With $10k in mods, I would wave you to go first an still have you looking at the best looking back end. GTS BABY!

I have full Belenger headers and 3"cat back setup. I also have 355 gears, K&amp;N intake, PCM reprogramed. I run 100 octane fuel.

Than I have to call b.s on the other guy, like I said $10k in engine mods are worth close to 560rwhp. I'm pretty sure you would know if that car had that much power. Unless you have boost or spray, 100 octane doesn't help the viper at all. Good kill by the way, sorry I didn't say it on my first post.

Just by saying "I've got $10k in my engine, etc", I am glad you spanked his A$$!

But it by chance he did spend that much, it's obvious he didn't spend that $10k at Heffner's or any other VCA super tuner!!

PRVT JET; We started at about 45 mph, and got up..never mined, too fast.

Jerome; I use a 91 &amp; 100 octane blend because the gas is soo bad in California.

Nice kill. What color is your SRT-10? Where in OC do you get the 100 Octane gas (Union 76)? We'll have to get together one weekend. My SRT-10 is set up about like yours. I have smoked a couple GTS's and RT/10's as well, among others, but haven't run into another SRT-10 that wants to "play" . The GTS and RT-10 guys (as PRVT JET demonstrates in his post, "same mods = same power level", don't seem to realize how much faster the SRT-10 is than the previous generations, especially with some mods.

I'm in OC too. We'll be at Crystal Cove / Starbucks (just off PCH) this Saturday 7:30-8:30 AM, if you're in town.

PVRT JET, 122mph is quite a nice trap for a 2002 GTS with limited mods as yours...congrats, you must be quite a good track man and the conditions prime. Same night and conditions you driving an SRT-10 with say a K&amp;N intake and 3.55 gears but otherwise stock, you may have even put up a 125mph. The SRT-10 is a strong puller especially on the top end. Who knows. Again, nice run in your GTS. If it's a Viper it's all good!

Thanks snake eye, I would love to take a modded srt down the track. By the end of the day, the tracks are well prepped and that's when you get your good numbers. I love the srt, I mean c'mon it's still a VIPER. I will be looking for a black momba to add in the near future.

I think the right word for the gen I/IIs styling isn't antique, but "timeless". There are some vipers I like better than others a little bit, but pretty much I love all vipers from the original '89 show car to the SRT-10 carbon concept. We're all one big Viper family here.

If you are running stock compression (9.6:1) and you decide to run race gas, then you are likely to be losing power.

Who did your computer reprogramming? Did they add timinng, what kind of power increase did you get on the dyno?

If you dont know the answers to these questions then I will guarantee that you make less rw hp on race gas than you do on 91 octane pump gas.

Increased octane does not make any more power ever. Only increased cylinder pressure and in some case advanced spark advance will make power increases. And only at that point does a higher octane fuel make sense.

A GTS doesn't need to be "put in it's place".

A GTS already has it's place in history as perhaps one of the top 5 best looking cars of all time. Can't say that for the SRT in any stretch.
