Quarter mile , Dyno question

If you Dyno your car at 425 horsepower is there any way to predict what a good driver can do in the quarter mile with stock tires in good condition? 1999 RT10

Using a drag race calc.you can get a perfect world figure with slicks.I've heard 11.50s
Most good drivers with good track conditions can push the snake high 11.90s stock tire.
Search it!

I dynoed at 415RWHP (10 less), and I'm willing to bet I weigh more than you

(about 280lbs here). On street tires, I ran an 11.68 when the car was really really hot. Cool Vipers are worth power. You could definitely do an 11.6x, and an 11.5x would be possible on street tires. Slicks will get you even lower.

Another thing you will find is that it takes roughly 15RWHP to increase your MPH by 1.

Just a good way to get a baseline.

Mike, I've drag raced three times. It seems to me that street tires hook up best immediately after coming off the street. After 30 minutes or so the times seem to drop. Do you find the same to be true or do I become to aggressive/aggravated?

Roy,

I honestly haven't noticed that much of a difference. I always found that the track preparation was much more of a factor in how I ran than the tire temperature. I have noticed that a burn out does not help at all, and that dropping the tire pressure also does not help. I used to spend so much time doing burnouts, or adjusting the pressure to try to get the most grip, and all my best runs were without a burnout and at about 30psi air pressure.
