Question for Gen1 owners w/o air.

I've owned my 94 for a little over a year and last weekend for the first time I drove the car with the soft top, rear window, and side curtains in. It was a hot, humid, rainy day and I only had to drive a few miles to get home, but man was it an oven in there. I'm normally not too far from home so I can deal with the heat if I get stuck in the rain. My concern is having to put the top and windows in for our trip to the VOI in Sept. What do you guys do when you're on a long trip to keep from cooking in your car?

I left the windows out in my 1996, but if it is 100% chance of rain, just **** it up. Might be a good idea to look for some Gen I A/C parts...............

buy a hard top 3 peace fits in trunk and plexi windows have a vent in them also i take rear glass out water doesnt get in that way

I have often wondered as well how hot it would be. I figure it will happen atleast once during the trip to Charlotte and back. After VOI12 I think I am going to start finding the individual pieces for the A/C.

I own a 1994 RT-10 and hot is an understatement. I have no A/C as well and in New Jersey it is like 90 degrees everyday this summer, The vent is on full and the Le Mans style windows are all the way open..Still drained by the end of the drive ,

Replace the Cats with straight pipe for a 500% improvement and then use spark plug non-foulers over the rear oxygen sensors to eliminate the CEL. Search non-foulers on this site

Many moons ago, I bought a few is sets of Mopar sliding windows that are specifically made to fit the 92-95 cars. They look exactly like the 96 window except the factory label says "92-95 retrofit". Additionally, I think the 96 windows will work on the early Gen1's. Makes a big difference.

I drove my 94 R/T to the first VOI in Michigan. On the way it started to rain. Stopped put the top on and windows in. Sweated to death getting there. On the way home it was full sun and 95 degrees. No top No windows, got burned from head to toe. Sold 94 R/T and purchased new GTS with A/C. Said I would never own ANY convertible without air and completely removeable top ever again!

Late Sept. will show us cooler weather. Unzip side windows to scoop fresh air in. leave the rear window snapped at the bottom and unpinned and pressed forward at the top. The heat is not that bad, once you give up and let yourself perspire. eg. The typical temperature inside the mill at work is 120-130 degrees. Our uniform include fire resistant clothing with the occasional use of reflective kevlar coats. Tuesday was cooler outside. The temperature inside the plant dropped to 100 degrees. The staff refused to use the aircondishing cooling stations, and be blasted with 45 degree cold air. It doesn't take long to grow accustomed to the temperature.
