Hey guys:

I came across a car for sale at Bay State and absolutely LOVE the stripes on the car. Now I was wondering, what do Vinyl Stripes run for? Installation cost? Where could I get them done if I was interested? I am in NJ. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Here is a few pictures of what I was thinking about, I want the same color and size EXACTLY:

Those stripes look real nice on that Viper - especially with the hardtop on. I don't think they look as impressive when the top is off though.

Saw some Ghost Flames on a sapphire a while back and thought they looked awesome. Wonder if vinyl Ghost Flames are available? Meansnake: Just emailed ya.

1MEANSNAKE can do a nice job on this one.
I saw his car at Carlisle and it was MUCH better done than mine.

I paid $385 and had to do 1/3 of the stripes again myself... I quess my stripedude had one or two (sixpacks?) too many installation beers that evening?

Go with IMEANSNAKE on this, those of us down in Maryland have seen a bunch of cars he has done. I was standing by one car at Jason Heffners dyno day and talked to the owner for 15 minutes about how we loved silver stripes on Vipers and would not have known that it was not paint if he had not told me at the end of the conversation. (And mine are painted from the factory, I could not tell the difference) And if you do some searching this is NOT a do it yourself easy deal, once you start to wrap the stripe down and under the fascia it gets hard. You are only a couple hours away, bring it on down, you can shop a TT at Jasons while you are here! Let us know if you are coming down.

Anyone know the dimensions for stripes, ie the width of the stripes and the distance between stripes. I have a local company that has put stripes on several of our vehicles and done quite a good job. They are willing to do them on my car for $275.

I am having mine installed with the pinstripes as in this photo. I am not sure whose car this is but I think it is awesome.

Vinyl will break down over time due to UV, but it will last a good while :) Fairly easy to apply. There used to be a writeup on it here somewhere.

I am trying to figure out the width of the stripes in my pictures above. I e-mailed Bay State but they did not respond. I was told earlier that they were 8 inch width but they look a little bit bigger. Any suggestions? I know they are closer together than stock because they are right outside the emblem (as opposed to an inch or so away on each side stock), so I am torn. Any ideas?

Mine are 8" wide, 4" apart.
I believe this was the stock striping and looks exactly the same as above pictures.

I would be willing to bet anything that they are indeed 8" width seperated by 3" gap vs 4" gap stock seperation! As for the UV breaking the vinyl down on Vipers that are virtually stored indoors most of the time, you will almost never have to worry about that for a very long time. The vinyl we use has a 7-9 year outdoor life with being in direct UV light for that entire period! Bring that Viper to me and let's get it striped :2tu:

by measuring the head on front picture by the badge, I can tell you the gap is 85mm and the stripe is indeed 200mm, going by the fact we know the sneaky pete badge is 3" wide and then simply measuring and working out a scaled ratio of 7.14 (for my monitior)

I also work with vinyl I applied stripes to my RT and had them on for 6 years before removing them for the next owner, there was no vinyl break down or discoloration of the paintwork. The current GTS also has vinyl stripes

Use the best vinyl you can get a cast material by a leading brand like 3M or Avery, its guaranteed for 10 years. Its a lot easier to apply and looks a lot better than the cheaper brands

Check my avatar, mine came from the factory and they come right up to the emblem just like the RT10 pictured here. I will measure tonight and post again but I think they are 8 in with 4 in in between.

F355, silver stripes on sapphire blue look incredible and I say you should do them asap! Do them in vinyl first, then if you like them, you can have them painted on later. I have a 9 yr. old 1996 Indyram with vinyl stripes from the factory, and they still look new, as long as you keep them waxed. I have used Pinnacle Souveran paste wax on my vehicles since new, and love the results.

The dimensions on my 2000 GTS stripes are 8" wide with a 4 1/2" gap between stripes.
