Plenty of them. Not cheap but very handy indeed. Go for the highest voltage battery available and, I believe, there are automotive ones and around-the-house ones......get the former.

Also don't expect any electric to loosen lugnuts torqued to 104 lbs by itself.

I use Snap-On 1/2" and DeWalt 1/2" 18v units on non-acorn-type lug nuts (OEM "acorn" covers seen on post 1998 Vipers will twist off with repeated usage in impact driver) with success MOST of the time. Usually, I break them loose by hand, then spin them off with driver. I always put them back on by hand (I'm OLD).

If you buy this type of product, try to go with at least 20v and lithium battery.

While I prefer the Snap On tools, the Dewalt impacts are hard to beat for the price. The 1/2" 36v from Dewalt is a very nice impact if you need the extra torque. If you want to stick with 18v, avoid the mini impacts if lug nuts are your main focus. The Lithium Ion battery technology has made alot of the larger tools easier to handle.

I have Dewalt 18v. 300ft lbs of torque. I wish I would have bought it the day I bought my Viper. This year I added an air powered Ingersoll Rand 2135QTiMax. Awesome tool.

Harbor Freight has a 1/2inch 18 volt impact wrench that works. Comes in a case and normally is $139 but now I see its on sale for $110.I have one and it works for me.

On the road I use the Snapon 1/2" it has the power to remove and reinstall all 6

wheels on my 3500 ram on one batt. At home I us a air impact ( i think it's a CP)

Not that I know of! Just remember the Viper has 6 lug nuts, most other cars have 4 or 5.

Before buying the one I have now, I bought a cheaper one which was 12volt and plugged into the cigarette lighter socket. I needed to take all four wheels off the car at once, after removing them the smaller impact wrench had smoke coming out of the motor :( (I did use it to crack the nuts loose too) Luckily it was still under guarantee so I took it back and upgraded to the cordless model I have now ;)

note that for one if you impact the factory lugs and they are caps, you will terminate the lugs, so brake loose by hand if capped lugs, second if you hammer your lugs with a impact, you take a chance on warping your brake rotors due to improper and uneven torque. allways hand torque your wheels

Good advice bluesrt Normally I break my nuts then undo them with the impact driver, and when replacing them always use a torque wrench to factory figures ;)

But I needed to get the wheels off quick as we needed to get to the tire garage before it closed.

My nuts are 22mm non capped.

:rolaugh: They don't know how to spell over here :D

I was going to get the De Walt model, but suddenly realised it was mainly Yellow and Black, I could not have that near my car, so I went with the Fast Red one :D

Dammit. Now that's gonna be on my mind. I wonder how much I can get for my Dewalt.

Heavy duty DeWalt 325Ft/Lbs plus Litium Ion Batteries.......
http://www.dewalt.com/tools/cordless-impact-driverswrenches-high-torque-wrenches-dc800kl.aspx

Heavy Duty but not as expensive 300Ft/Lbs with XRP NiCad Batteries.........

If you already have DeWalt 18V batteries and a charger...........

I've used the top one quite a bit, although on larger harware. Serious impact for lug nuts, but it will surely get the job done. The biggest advantage to the 18v is the batteries, they will fit a whole bunch of home use tools, the 36v has very limited home use.
