Well it finally catched my Viper and I have leaking headgaskets. Luckily I have the Chrysler Warranty.

I need to get my Viper transported (220 miles) to Chuck Tators Dodge,BUT....

U-haul trailer is 79 1/2" wide, will this clear the Viper?
What is the width of Gen 1 Viper at rear tires?
So, why I am not measuring it myself? My tires and brakes are off at this moment.

I have a Expedition to pull the viper, but no trailer at this point.
Any idea where I can get a trailer that will take a Viper in Pennsylvania (Lancaster/Harrisburg/Reading area?

Any quick info is appreciated, since I am trying to get it to Chucks place this Saturday. Good news is that my Viper will be in good hands.

Thanks, Lauri

Steve's right.

I learned this when I hauled my car on a trailor. On your car, measure from the side pipe tips or side pipe covers, whichever sticks out further.

First, your lucky to have such a great dealer to take your Viper to. Second, you might want to call Chuck and ask him to recommend someone to transport it for you unless you plan on purchasing a trailer. Options for rentals of trailers are few and far between.

I ruined my back rims when I used a uhaul trailer. Do a search for the post I made last year or so.

I agree with 96 R/T 10...drive it. Top off the oil at home and bring a quart or two along...heck, I drove mine that way for about 10 months before we finally fixed it.

Would State College be doable. I have a buddy there and hauled my 94 from there to Atlanta in his covered trailer. Call me if you still need help. 404-588-4514.

I cannot drive the car as it is.
The front is off, getting new paint at lover "lip", exhaust sills off being painted painted 300 miles north from here at Dans Auto & Bodyshop, Gillet, PA , he did a GREAT job on my rear spoiler last summer!
New rims are in California (being cromed), brakes off, A/C condencer off, new Eibach springs all over (which means that the alignment is propably screwed as is), so driving it this weekend is not an option.
I was unable to find a newer version of the U-haul trailer (which is 4" wider than the old one.) So at this point my options are low...
I may want to wait to get parts back from Dan, so I could drive it to Chucks. Car itself works fine, just needs some assembly.

Thanks for all the offers to help me! What a great club!

After multiple attempts in North East, with no one wanting to touch the wheels, Scott from Elite Motor Sports contacted me.

They have successfully used California Wheel Chrome. The wheels are well done and good quality according to him. I contacted John (owner) at California Wheel Chrome and he was extremely helpful and had time to explain me the complete process, including the difference of chroming casted center caps or "chroming" the plastic center caps.

My wheels are still there, so I cannot yet say too much about their quality myself, but I am confident if Scott (VIPERMED) recommends them, they ARE good.

I Have the same wheels you do, 5 spokes (-96 model. Price was more than fair, 190 bucks per wheel, INCLUDING caps! Just polishing in Pennsylvania was 300 bucks each... (with a warning that quality would not be what I was requesting)

I will take later pictures of the wheels and e-mail to you if you want. Link is below:

Check out Rent Way in Palmyra for a trailer. Its an aluminum tilt with the chains attached for securing. I used it to haul my 99 GTS from Indiana last April, it also has surge brakes on it. The trailer tracked exceptional even at 80mph. When loading and unloading you should have an incline or additional planks to avoid touching the front nose. Only $45 a day rental. good luck
