R29 recall

Hello everyone. I’ve owned a 2010 dodge viper srt convertible for about 5 years now. I love it but I’ve been itching for a possible trade on a newer model. 2013-2015. Some 2013’s have showed recalls such as these 18 P52 R14 R29 performed on the vehicles at about 4500-6000 miles. Here’s one example-
2013 DODGE SRT VIPER GTS
VIN: 1C3ADEBZ9DV400542.
I am a car enthusiast as far as speed and aesthetics but have no clue on what makes them run…
My question is, should I be concerned on the model year gen 5 and should I stay away? Thank you

You have raised the question on recalls...especially for 2013 and 20q4 model years. I suspect that many could write a book here...but is not going to be me today. If you have a Viper VIN to question, go here:

You mentioned R 29 ( which we had performed on our 2014)...but to me, the R 28 was the big question.

Hey Steve, so I checked a vin on the Mopar Recall site for a 2015 vpr srt and it says that the R29 was done. Is there a reason a 15 would have that done other than precautionary.?!

My guess is that it was an early build that had the original breather hose set up that needed to be rerouted.

Here is a listing of R 29 parts that I looked up a couple of years ago when the kits were on backorder:

"Aside from the oil and SRToil filter, here are the components:

05038579AF...Cylinder head cover

05038587AE...Engine cover(coils)

05038617AD...CVV hose to air cleaner for 2015-2017 ONLY

68252475AB...Fuel injector cover...foam block"

As this is now remote history for me, others may give you a better explanation.

So they take apart some of the engine components? I thought they tested the oil for debris?? Thank you

Just some covers on top to reroute a hose. No oil analysis on a 2015.
