Hi All - I was referred here by a friend and I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum, so mods please let me know if I'm out-of-line.

There is a current group buy for the Racelogic Traction Control system organized on bimmerforums and we are up to 14 people! We need only 6 more people to get the lowest prices anywhere!! Note that the last group buy happened over a year ago (they don't go on sale ever), and normal retail prices are slated to increase. So now's your chance to get a proven Traction Control system at the best price possible.

If you're interested, please send me a PM, or email: [email protected] , for a link to the group buy.

The deadline is April 19th. So get yours now before prices go back up!

Thanks for the bandwidth!

I am in no way affiliated with Racelogic or it's distributors. Just another auto enthusiast trying to save some $$$'s and passing it on. My SN or bimmerforums is 'estorilblau'.

Viper TC is a whole different animal from bimmer TC. you need additional components... so talk to jeremy @ matrix before you take the plunge... make sure you know what you are getting. and if you are using this on a non-ABS car, you need aftermarket wheel speed sensors. don't forget that...

JD,
At that link they have an option @ $100 extra for the parts needed for a Viper. Are these the parts you are talking about or are even more parts needed?

you need wheel speed sensors on a non-ABS viper, the Viper "controller" ($100) and if you want launch control, you actually need two units... can't do it with one.

Ricky - Contact Bernie at OOparts who is sponsoring the group buy. He is also a Racelogic vendor knowledgeable with Vipers, and can get you everything you need at the group buy price. Bernie can be reached at: [email protected] Note that he and his wife just had a new baby so it may take him a day to get back to you. Thanks.

Funny that it is on the BMW site. Wouldn't think any of them would have traction problems with their low hp/tq....

Why spend so much money on an unproven product that only does TC?

Just spend the extra cash and get an AEM unit, at least there you can pick up power along with TC. Not to mention tons of other benefits.

philosophicaly, I think that a device that does one thing and does it well is actually a good idea. The AEM is pretty complex and it also uses a different "method" of determining traction control.

Not saying that one is better or worse, but I've played with the RL before and it is "stupid simple". The AEM isn't so much. RL, even on a non-ABS car isn't that difficult to install or program. AEM has a class and a 300 page manual. And many _still_ don't understand the AEM.

So it depends on your goals.

I know on my mustang stock it had traction control and after talking with a few mustang tuners found out that fords TC ***** big time, It does the job but does not disengage and in some cases hold for a good 7 - 9 seconds, so when I had a custom chip burned I had it taken off.

Point of it is sometimes TC is not always the best route to go, unless of course it is 100% perfected.

Different TC works different ways. The RL lets you fine tune and adjust... the AEM is also supportive but in a different way. Vettes and Stangs are just ON or OFF... big difference there...

I have a Racelogic Traction Control system that I have not installed. When I bought it, RL did not have reluctor plates for non-ABS cars. If anyone is interested in purchasing the kit send me a PM.

Russ,

Unproven? A lot of members on here have had great success with the Racelogic Traction Control setup, making their Vipers much more fun and safer to pilot.
