Does anyone have experience, good or bad, with racer tape (ISC, 3M) as protection for the front and leading hood area on a road course? I had tried putting painters tape on, but I found that it would not stick well. Once it comes loose, it makes nice rub marks on your paint. I'm looking to put something on the fascia and hood leading areas that will stick enough at speed but also not hurt the paint coming off.

I have used blue painters tape at more than 25 track events Watkins Glenn Mid Ohio and VIR I have never had a problem with it coming loose and doing any kind of damage. I do the backs of mirrors rear quarters complete front bumper (all leading edges) and some hood area, behind front wheels, and above the windsheild. It peals off very easy, after the events.
I once used racers tape and never again. Very difficult to get off and some adhesive stuck to paint, had to use additional cleaners to remove adhesive.
I eventually used 3m clear bra and have never regretted that move.
I just took possetion of my new 08 coupe and the first thing I am doing is putting the 3m clear bra on again before driving one mile, shop is doing it at my home.
I hope this helps.

Has anyone tried this stuff?

Spray it on day of event, then wash it off when you get home...
