OK so, I have two events comming up one in August and one in September. The temperature today was around 105.

Anyone have advice on the best product to keep me cool?

Other than a maitai beside the pool that is.

Well.... there goes my suggestion.

Honestly, I just took the beating when on the track. Off the track I hung out in the garage area. Helps if the organization coordinating the event rents out a garage and provides drinks.

Cool suit, with iced watter in the tank for the suit. But its only really good for short runs.

An ice pack in the shape of your neck and shoulders, placed under neath your suit does mirracles. But I am not very confident in what it may do if you crash with it in place.

like road courses or drags?

I do HPDE's-I wear a short-sleeve t shirt under the suit or long sleeve shirt so I can take it off immediately. Keep a cooler full of ice/water and put a cloth around my neck for a few minutes while the car is cooling down too

I have a DE next wk in KY and it's gonna be HOT!

The cool shirt is the only way to fly. My system also has a helmet blower that blows cool air into the helmet.Be sure to get the quick disconnects that will just pop off when you get out of the car without disconnecting the hoses. Anything that reduces driver fatigue will make you a better driver.

Remove your cats. People remove cats for performance but the true raison is heat ....

If you do not want to for the cool shirt, I use Fireware underware which unlike nomex can be wet and still provided full fire protection. I dunk my shirt and hood in ice water before I get into my race car and I am cool through the race. You should also look at suits from Bell. They specialize in multilayer suits that release heat. One more trick....dont use under arm anti persperant.

Art...If you do this you are not allowed to pit near me! I did rent a garage at Willow and plan to have a small portable cooler for between races. Anyone else is welcome to sit in the shade.

I can confirm that this works wonders. When I used to run long distances, I didn't care if I stunk up the place, because it makes you a lot cooler.

Just spray yourself good with some cologne...hehe

I use the cool suit in my race car.It really helps when you are sitting on the grid or you get a red flag. Most of the pros use them. I rigged mine with a lighter adapter so we could use it in a 10 hour enduro in my buddies BMW.It helps that my neighbor is one of the co-owners.I am tempted to strap it in my Viper passenger seat (easy to do) for when I go lapping.Call fastraceproducts and tell them Scott sent you.Your lap times will improve.
