Just passing along some information to my fellow Viper owners, hopefully it will educate and/or save you a buck in the longrun. I had a leak in my radiator and had some different options to choose from: upgrade, OEM, fix, etc. After some review, I decided to try to have it fixed. I found out that the radiator is metal and can be welded. Actually you can re-core it too. So instead of opting for new radiator and a $ 947 fix at the dealer, I dropped $143 for the weld with a 90 warranty.

Can't warranty a rental vehicle. I guess I self insure myself and create my own warranty by buying $2500 in parts a year instead of giving it to some company. Have a tranny, clutch, pads, half shafts on the shelf waiting......

I took my 97 GTS in to the dealer for a smog check and asked the Viper Tech there to look the car over. He said he noticed a trail of rust towards the bottom of the radiator so he replaced it under warranty. While replacing the radiator, he notied I still had the original cooling fan module so he replaced that with the new style, again, under warranty!
Man, I love my 7 year 50,000 mile extended warranty!!
