Ran an 11.852 @ 119.61 tonight at Houston Raceway Park. This was only my second trip to the track. My Viper is bone stock including the Pilot tires. I ran 24 lbs in rear and 32 lbs in front. They gave me a bunch of crap about no roll bar and sent me back to tech inspection. Tech said I'll let you run again if you promise to let off near the end. Here is more info from the time slip..

R/T: .687
60': 1.898
330: 5.142
1/8: 7.749
MPH: 95.30
1000: 9.977
1/4: 11.852
MPH: 119.61

Hey speedshftr,

I'm lifting during shifts, just very quickly. I running it right up to 6000 each time. Some say you should shift earlier, but I feel it pulling harder and harder all the way to red line, so I go with it. When I watch the video on tape you can see the needle on the tach and I'm definately taking it right up there each shift. It drops to about 4500 in the new gear.

Hey JonB,

My shocks are still set at factory full soft. I had right at 1/4 tank. I might have turned a little quicker time with less fuel on board. Take a look at the video in the link below and you can see first hand how I launched.

I basically rolled off the line at about 1200-1500 rpm. You can hear the engine bog slightly. Listen for when the engine bogged the most and you will hear a little bit of tire spin. I tend to think I had it right on the edge of spinning. I think if I had left just a little more aggresively, I would have probably really broke them loose. I was running 24 lbs in back and 32 lbs in front. Stock pilots with 4700 miles on them.
