Have a random issue where the car will be running, and it drops either 4 or 6 cylinders. It is a substantial drop in cylinders, and it is fixable sometimes by stopping the car letting it sit for 5-10 minutes and then will be fine. It sometimes will not occur in several cycles over various drive times. I thought it was a connector issue on the 6-pack coil, but it comes and goes. The car could just be warming up and it will occur, it could be hot and occur.

I am looking for some suggestions on how to start narrowing this down. No check engine light comes on. PCM has been gone through and was told it is fine.

Only happens on hot?

Same cylinders (read the codes as you didn't state year)

On cold emgine, Hair dryer or heat gun the component you think is being heat soaked and start it.

it happens hot or cold, I am not getting any codes the car is a 1993. I used to think it was heat related, but it has occurred just after starting the car headed out of the driveway. I can hook up the scanner and take it for a test drive and record hoping it will happen. I think I can do that with the Actron I bought.

My 93 was starting to randomly misfire. Ended up just being plug wires. At night if you pop the hood in total darkness, you can see if any wires are visibly arcing. If you’ve never replaced them. There’s a good chance it could be your wires. If the car has high mileage, it could be coil pack related. If you need wires, Havik Performance keeps them in stock. I run their wires on all of my Vipers.
