Random Tech Exhaust Help

I will be making a change in my exhaust on my 2002 RT 10 before Vegas this year and I want to make sure I do it right the 1st time. I don’t want to much noise under 3500 rpm or while cruising. So I need some help here. I will also be putting on hi flow cats.

Can anyone tell me what mufflers Random Tech are using as well as their construction and overall physical dimensions?

How much louder then the Corsa or the B&B is this system?

Do all the parts fit so that this is an easy install at home?

Any dyno reports or HP increase?

Thanks

Tim

The Random Tech is only the cat. converter. I don't believe they make mufflers. I have had a 3" Corsa exhaust + the Random Tech cats for quite a while on my 01 and have not had any problems. The noise level is very comfortable while cruising. I've ridden in cars with the Borla exhaust and the noise level is much higher, I'm not sure about the B&B setup though. Installing the Random Tech cats does require welding...As far as power goes, you should be about 420rwhp with this setup.

I was under the impression that was all they made but now on their web site they also show mufflers. For the Viper they are 6”*20” Not sure who makes them or what the construction is like or even the sound.

Yes Corsa is good and that is the way I wanted to go but they are expensive and it is tough to justify $1600 when maybe B&B or Random are very close for several hundreds of dollars less.
I agree around the 420 hp would probably be the norm. Hopefully to take the cats off from the factory exhaust is not too big a deal and the welding will add a little to this but not a lot. I am figuring that I can do this install my self in 6 hours by the time I get the car up onto jacks, and complete all of this.

Thanks

I have an 02 GTS with Random Tech high flow cats and cat back exhaust. I can tell that the quality is superb I my opinion better than Corsa. My friend has the Corsa setup on his 02 GTS and he agrees with me on the quality of the Random Tech.

I did install it myself, but I still had to go a muffler shop to do some minor welding for the cats at the factory header tubing.

As far as the power you could expect about 10-15 bhp. The sound is great, is definetly louder than the stock version and bit more than the Corsa but definetly worth it.

I did buy mine at partsrack. But Roe also carries them. They both have a very good price on them. :2tu:

Well that is good to hear. The price is a lot better then the Corsa. Does anyone have any sound files that I could hear?

Thanks

What makes you say to expect 10-15hp gain? Do you think it's because of the cat swap or because of the exhaust swap or both?

I just bought this setup myself and I agree that the quality is outstanding on both the cats and the exhaust. I have not installe dthem yet though. ...Soon.

I had the car Dyno prior to install and after install with the Cat's and rear X assembly.

Stock = 407 RWHP & 446 RWTQ

Modify = 425 RWHP & 466 RWTQ

The car did also have T&D 1.7 ratio roller rockers and K&N filters.

I do not think the rockers made too much of a HP gain rather is more of
a reliability factor for valve train durability. IMO? :2tu:

Your post is a bit confusing. Can you clarify please as to your dyno time line.

Was your "after" dyno numbers a result of only the random tech cats and exhaust install -OR- are they a result of random tech cats, exhaust, T&D rockers and filters??????

thanks in advance

The results are inclusive of all the items i.e. (RandomTech cats, exhaust, T&D rockers, and K&N). :cool:
