Installed the metal high flow Random tech cats with a Mopar Borla exhaust yesterday on my 97 GTS. Yup, it's loud especially at WOT and there is a perceived SOP increase. Leaving the muffler shop and wanting to hear the WOT sound, I had a sideways adventure due to increased go pedal sensitivity. Personally I like the new tone and can easily shift out of the too loud condition at any speed. No regrets, I'd do it again although I realize exhaust sound is a personal preference.

is it true the Borla is only available in a 2.5 inch INLET? if so, any way you see to modify it to a 3" IN?

I am not sure if the Borla is only 2.5, but I know the Mopar-Borla is, as that is what I have. I did modify mine during the installation, took a bit longer, but we basically, cut off the 2.5", and welded on 3". It wasn't really hard, as my friend really knows what he's doing, but it was time consuming and took quite a bit of patience.
I have seen another set done, with an Expansion Type tool. I have no idea what it is called, but it basically spread apart the 2.5" section to 3" and welded it together with another slightly larger than section of pipe that covered where they parts met. Sorry my description is so bad!
My friends owns a nice Muffler/Brake Shop so he has everything at his access and helped me with the whole thing! OK, I admit, it was more like I was helping him! :D

I took the Borla off to Install the Corsa. Borla is necked down to 2 1/2 to fit the stock cat outlet. The Corsa fit right up to the high flow cats. The big plus is no Cabin drone at all and the tips ain't bad either.

The Mopar/Borla has a 2 1/2 inlet. I had it opened to 3" when I did the cats. The car is much loader and meaner sounding. I would like it even louder :D

The Mopar Borla has a 2.5" inlet on the resonator to mate with the stock cats. My muffler guy cut the 2.5" inlet off with a plasma cutter and welded on a 3" adapter for the random tech cats that came from Jon B at Parts Rack. No big deal at all. There's a significant difference between the sound and flow between the ceramic and metal Random Tech cats. The metal cats are louder, flow better and cost more.

I have the B&B cat back system, Stock cats and exhaust manifold. It sounds awsome from the turn of the key. Alot louder than stock and Corsa. Corsa just seems to be mild at the turn of the key but step on it and you will hear it. I like it loud and am thinking of deleting the cats. I also hope to soon have a video to post soon, I will have before and after sound and footage.

na... no corsa for me. I just cant seem to fall in "love" with the sound of it. I LOVE the sound of Borla, however I will have to hear Jim's car with the B&B before I make a determination.
