Mine rattled until I adjusted the rear clips. I noticed that even with the clip engaged (for lack of a better word) the top would rattle, especially on bumps. I took the top off and loosened the two screws that allow adjustment of the clip up and down. When I reinstalled the top, it required much more down force on the top to engage the clips and solved the rattle problem.

Had same problem annoying rattle right behind drivers head!!
took it to my local vipertech who actually removed the rear clips, straighten them (they were bent??)and reinstalled them making the top now fit tight and secure to the car.. no more rattle.

Good luck

The adjustment is on the clips located at the rear of the hardtop. Just remove the hardtop, place it somewhere where it won't get scratched and loosen the two screws on the rear clip(s) and push the clip in a fraction. Re-tighten the screws and replace the hardtop on the car. It won't take much movement to solve your problem.

3 trips to the dealer and they couldn't stop the rattle. Not only that it rubbed paint off my sports bar. They finally gave me a new top and repainted my sports bar. It's fine now.

The tops rattle because of the rear "scissor" type mounting brackets which can also scratch your car if you aren't careful. For those who have yet to purchase a hardtop, our New Gen II tops will be available soon and eliminate both of the above problems, these tops can be seen at www.vipermania.com

Biff:

Can you retrofit a Gen II top with your mounting brackets to eliminate the "scissor-type" brackets? If so, would you be willing to sell them separately?

Not only do you have to adjust the rear clips, but lubricate the weather stripping. I use mink oil, like you would use on boots, and gob it on the weather stripping and smooth it out thin. Go all around.

AAAHHHHHHH......nice and quiet.
