It took a while for the insurance to understand how much the ACR carbon fiber parts actually cost. There original estimate was $8000 I laughed and said that's just for the splitter right. They had to get some big wigs in on it and it took me 3 months to get paid but we settled on $31,000

Yeah, I imagine the splitter is really the big cost there. Maybe something you could possibly patch up for a backup or a race piece though if it's not totally gone. My big thing was just trying to fix and reuse whatever I can since I was trying to be cheap and not bring insurance into it. Filled in the scratches on the trunk lid and had it repainted. Debating what to do with my wheels one of these days. Took some decent chunks out of the lips, but all just cosmetic.

So originally when I bought the car I had to drive it home from Chicago and I took hours to protect the front from chips. Guess I wasted my time lol

I feel bad for you.
We all love our Vipers and the last thing we want to do is damage them.
The guilt, the shame, wishing you could have that moment back.
Shoot! Now I'm getting all emotional!
Looks like you're very capable of doing the rebuild. Good luck.

I replaced my splitter with a new one ($3200). My co-driver broke the original when he went into some tires at Daytona. However, I found a local guy here in Denver (Renegade Composites) that fixed my old one up like new.

Where did you find one for $3200?? With my Chrysler discount I can get one for $6300

I couldn't believe how bad the tire was in cold weather. Iv been driving vipers since I was 16 and you know got them sideways and was able to pull out of it but not the sports cups the car just took off and I had no control. Just missed a phone pole by a few feet I mean this could have been alot worse

Similar... I have raced wheel to wheel probably 50 races in a Honda S2000.... my 2009 ACR had about 2k miles... almost same scenario... 40F morning... start out at a stoplight making a left, 100yard later I am looped around looking like a complete tool... luckily I hit nothing but exact same as you.... I had no warning, nothing I could have done once in it besides both feet in... I am sure everyone around me was laughing their asses off.... I spun off the track racing in my S2000 a few times due to driving at the limit... in the ACR I was just driving to the mall.... I swapped to NITTO's since then.. car is 1000X better....

goodluck with getting it back on the road. I remember seeing pics of your garage when you first got it.

My ACR sticker came in today for the passenger side side sill and I opened the package and there were 2 in there. They must sell them as a pair. No wonder why they cost so much.
