Tomer--

Just got back from Dublin Dodge. I was turned away for 999. Kieth, a service writer, says they do not have the tools yet. I will go back when they do.

He also appeared to be reluctant to repaint the side sills, though I think, I might be able to talk him into it.

If I can't, I know who will. (SIR TATOR)

I got the "You race it of course."

"No, this car has never been on a track."

"PSHAW, of course you race it."

"Observe the stickers on my brakes. They are white."

Sheesh--I've been there 5 minutes and he's calling me a liar.

My sills have re-yellowed visibly in 9,000 miles of driving. This is with hi-temp reflective on the inside.

Anyhow, I think I WILL stay with these guys for 999. The Viper tech here sees a LOT of vipers (always at least two here) and he is supposed to be pretty good.

Todd, that is what I thought!! Is the Viper Tech still John? I agree he seemed pretty good, and I spoke to him personally a couple times (although all I have had was oil change and pre purchase inspection)...

The issue I have is with the service writers. If they don't go to bat for you, you are hosed...My side sills are bubbling around the rivets (like everyone else) and they basically told me its too old...Forget about it...

Then I get in contact with Bill at Woodhouse Dodge, and he has a nice lady call me back saying, there is a TSB out on this, and (paraphrase here) a decent 5 star dealer should take care of it...

My feeling is IF I were near Woodhouse, it would be a non issue...So I might try Redwood City Dodge...Longer drive, but lets See how they do.

As a young man, my father taught me that those who are quick to accuse you of being a liar are typically guilty of their own charge.

Toddt, just curious. Had you replied you do Viper Days to your dealers question about "racing" what do you think his answer would have been. This recall is virtually tailored to the car used on the track, even worded that way. My dealer and tech are fully aware I autocross and have started doing track events. The tech allows me to work alongside him when handling issues on my cars, and even gave me his pager number for off days in case I working on the cars at home and get stuck. They never balked when I talked to them about the recall, and we had a complete discusion regarding their welders certifications to do the work. I had an invite to put on the coveralls and watch all I wanted. Your dealer sounds like a "used car salesman".

TacDoc...You have an AWESOME tech...I am jealous.

I just wish some of the service reps at Dublin Dodge were "car guys/gals"...Then we would not get that crap...

I had the same crap from their parts dept...I first called them for a discontinued Mopar Performance part for my Cuda...I got a more senoir guy, maybe even the parts dept mgr, and he said, nope, can't do it, computer system just converts the old part number to the new one, which would not work for me...He also said the system confirms there were 30 of these parts in Michigan...Doesn't that alone make you want to "try" to get around the system...

Arghhhhhhhhhh...So I call back and get another guy, who actually owns a muscle car (Ch*bby) and he says, let me try...Calls me back 20 min later, says, I think I got it, I will call you when the part comes in and we will then know for sure, but the system shows they are going to pull the old part number...

Voila, I get the part i wanted 4 days later...The first guy should be fired...

Oh, now I am getting worked up...Sorry
