Hope this is not a dumb question, but
<<the driver losses control due to poor workmanship of the repair. >> .... is this why the recall is recommended...to keep the welds from cracking and then possibly "lose control" while driving due to severe cracking?
Another question:
Plenty of us have cars (such as '96 pace cars, rare '97 blue and white RTs, GT-2s, etc.) that have from 10 - 1500 miles on them, and will probably have the same number of miles 20 years from now. Any recommendations on what to do recall-wise for these collector cars? ie "leave it alone if no cracks are found" vs. "this is a major safety issue, have it done at all costs"?
