Yes, I know this has been discussed before, but a search didn't show anything.

So, I'm going to ask again......

I bought my '98 RT/10 last May and it was a Florida car its whole life. Seems it has clear bra across the front of the hood and is lifting a little at the corners. I have tried the recommended trick of using a hair dryer to try to smooth out those spots but it doesn't work.

I would like to remove it, but am uncomfortable about possibly ruining or lifting some of the paint. I am also considering applying stripes, which requires that the clear bra be removed.

Anyone can offer suggestions, help?

Thanks very much.

If the paint is original, or had been cured for a coulpe of years before the clear bra was applied, you should be fine

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, I am the second owner and do not have answers for those questions. I do not think the car was repainted and neither does Chuck, but you never know. I would hate to find out differently once I start to remove it.... could be real bummer. It is the reason I have not tried to do it as yet.

Thanks.

I removed some from my side sills after having it there for 2 years. Did not pull any paint but you'll need some high-powered adhesive remover to remove the adhesive that's left behind. I used denatured alcohol solvent.

If you get an edge up and use a heat gun to soften the adhesive, it may come off easier than you think
