I'm replacing my cooling fan module tommorow. Is there any trick to the quick disconnects on the power steering lines at the fan module. Do I need a special tool? It says to replace the o-rings also. Can I get them anywhere or are they special? Thanks guys.:2tu:

If there is a special trick to getting the ends off the hoses to change the orings, I don't know it. When you turn the ends, you are rotating the orings on the line. Hopefully they will survive the surgery, and not leak.

I had a leaky fitting and ended up replacing the whole line, not cheap by the way.

I think all that is necessary is a big metric wrench, removal of the air box, and a good stretch of the lower back, as you're gonna be bent way over wrenching on it.

My new module has the fittings on it already. I was just going to disconnect the others, then snap them into the new one.How does the line diconnect from the fitting? The shop manual doesn't say anything about that.

So I guess that's the way you did it? You didn't remove the line from the fitting. Correct?

No, I replaced the line itself. When you order the line, it comes with the ends off already, and you just pop them on, with a c-fitting inside the end clicking into a depression in the line, like a ring on a cylinder.
But I can't see how the end can come off again, as there is no way I see to get anything inside the end once it's on. It was only the end that was leaking, but I replaced the whole line just to get new ends on.

I had the same problem. I replaced the whole fan assembly and replaced the line. The fan came with the nuts installed and the line didn't have the connectors installed. easy installation just pop in the quick connect lines until you hear and feel a clicking sound.
