Hope you don't have the same fit issues as Nadine did! That rear end took one hell of a lot of work to make it fit!

Nadines at VOI 12 so drop her a PM to this thread :)

Good Luck :)

already spoken to her via pm :)

i have bought some modelling plastic and will probably end up roughly doing it, im a man of many bodges :) i think ill be putting the plastic form the rear of the door all the way back, and right over the top to the other side. then cutting it to let the boot open.
as for the bonnet, try and smooth out the front duct and fill with bodyfiller, then cut some more grills in it over the top. will try and take my time with it

as i said to ***, if it even slightly close to teh original ill be a happy guy. and thanks for the interest. im sure ill need that good luck :)

:) I used to spend hours and hours making models, I was into Tamya 1/35 WW2 stuff then started on the 1/24 scale Hot rods and Funny cars :) The film American Graffiti was a massive influence on my life style :) When I left school and went to Art College, My interview at Art college involved me showing my models, and I was accepted on the spot :)

Please keep us posted on progress of works :)

thanks mark. will sand it down tonight i think
No Problem,

So just how detailed is this car going to be? I don't know if Nadine has sent you any more pics but there are many differences on her car ;) The front hood is a lightweight hood held down by race clips and pins. On a normal Viper wings are fixed. On Nadine's car she has moulded the top of the wings onto the hood making it all one piece ;)

So if you wanted to go the whole way you will need to cut the top of the wings off and attach them to the hood ;)

I will see if I can find some pics for you :)

ive been hoarding pics, but there few and far between :) have asked for some more. but will have to wait till shes back across the pond
i doubt ill be moulding in the wings, but am aiming for a smoothed out front duct, and cutting in the extra vents across the middle.
the sides wont be moved out, but i will be adding the extentions to the bottom of the skirts.
rear wont be a perfect rep. ill still have the vert rear end, but will try my best to get the overhang over the lights and along the bootlid.

as for the snake skin spraying, im gunna do my best to get it as close as possible. but im not sure how yet :)

and jance, yes unfortunatly its an early bburago model. which came with a damn gen2 engine :( i would swap but im not breaking up my autoart coupe for parts :)

So the two wings (white bits) are attached to the black bit, making it a one piece

ive got that one though, which gives a good overall image. still not sure if i would be able to pull it all off, plus once the bonnets off its only going to show that gen2 engine :) so may just leave it

ok, the good news is the extra slats in the bonnet are done

the bad news is there rough as old boots, ive split one into the side vent. and ive cut into some other areas.

hopefully though once painted it shouldnt look too bad

im going to leave the front duct, too much of a paint to cut and fill it in.

Get a Needle file and put a slight angle on those slots :)
You can get a bit liquid metal from a hobby shop or DIY store and patch up any holes you have made :) Or use epoxy 2 part filler :)

Well done so far :1up: :)

Just found this, absolutely brilliant, fun to see it taking shape and paint. So pleased you like my MambaX to make a unique model.
When I had the ideas about what I wanted to do with the car, I thought about taking a 1/18 model and trying out some of the mods / ideas, as I'm no good at photoshop. Anyway, I was too keen to get going, and went full scale straight away, so its great to see you making a model.

atm the project has stopped, i ran into some problems trying out some snake skin (abit like you i rushed straight in rather than testing on something else first) so it needs sanding back abit :(

:eater: Chop, chop :D

I remember years ago using a plastic material called Frisk Film, you could take take a print from a magazine using the film and then transfer it to your model. It was used for car custom painting (big in the 70's)

Google it ;) Lots of stuff on the market for image transfers :)

:) i think im probably gunna be better off cutting a full vinyl image, and sticking that down. then painting the gold. it worked well with the centre bit (posted above) but didnt fancy weeding it all out to do the rest of the scales
