2001 RT/10 with

-Roe oval cats
-resonators still in place
-muffler delete replaced with pipe(pipe is an "x" pipe. It
communicates for a couple of inches around the first muffler
hanger and then separates and exits the back.

No resonance when stock.

Oval cats done 1st with little change in sound, just a small
drone.

With the top on and muffler off, there is alot of noise at
2000-2500rpm's. AWESOME EXHAUST NOTE!!

So is this a trade off? Is this normal for an RT? I have not
had a chance to drive with the top off. I assume it won't
be as bad.

Just wondering if anyone else has an "x" pipe setup. It seems most go with an "H" pipe. The muffler guy said he preferred the "x" 'cause it was a cleaner weld and flowed better.

This was a very inexpensive way to go with a great exhaust note. Hopefully the resonance won't be as bad with the top off.

I've got stock cats with straights and the exhaust note is very nice. However, I'm told when I put Roe's cats on the car it will need mufflers. Thinking about using a single Flow Master if it's really loud.

I love the sound with just the pipes. I would not change that. The resonance is the annoying part. I know the GTS's have an inherent resonance since it has a fixed roof.

Do any other RT owners have this problem with resonance?

This shop in MS only charged me $80 to do the muffler delete and replace with the "x" pipe and weld on my 3.5 tips. He charged $80 on a separate occasion to remove and install my cats.

I did it myself. Nothing to it plus I wanted to Zaino them and not risk someone else screwing them up. 10 bolts about 5 min each.
