Has any one moved their side sill resonators to the rear where the original mufflers are set up, on a GTS? My reason is I have Hennessey headers and 3" exhaust, I love the sound, but the resonator fits so tight in the side sill that it gets really hot with no air around the outside of it. Would be great to just move it under the back deck where the old mufflers were before the new exhaust was put on.

If you move the resonators to the end of the system they will not do their job so well. The way I understand it is a resonator can alter the bounce in the sound waves, so that the wave moves more efficiently though the system, they also alter the sound of the harsh sounding waves, and can run systems quieter. They will run hotter than straight pipe, as to change a sound wave they will absorb some of the waves energy which is converted to heat and released that way.

I agree with "Mrviper99", and if you do mod your system they can be tricky to fit back in, as they end up close to the chassis rail at the end of the still, the cats are the hottest part of your system.

Are you sure it's not the cats that are getting hot? Because if they are still there, it is them that are baking. As far as the resonators to, just get rid of them if you want or just put a couple in the rear as you said but I doubt they are heating up the side sills very much.

Hi Sean: I took my temp gun and shot the Hi flow cats and the resonators. The Cats were at 750, the pipes were at 350 and the resonators were at 550. I know that they were lower than the cats however that was on the unsheilded side of the cats, the sheilded side was 500, the resonators also fit so tight in the side sills I know the temp has to go higher with no air around them, when they are in the sills.
