just wondering if there are any stereo gurus on this site. Ive meesed with several different filters to decrease the dreaded RFI when my stereo is playing. I know, i know, its easier to just throw the car in neutral and drop the rpms so the whinning concomitantly drops but i'd rather a more technical fix. so far i have reduced the whine somewhat but not enough by my standards. anyone deal successfully with this?

Check your grounds again. Sometimes a ground loop isolator can clear up the problem if your ground seems to be fine.

Another quick fix is to open the trunk and reduce the gain on the amps. You'll have to use more volume on the stereo after this, though.

I'll probably get a few flames for this but here I go.
I think your aftermarket plug wires are causing your problem. I might be wrong about this but it is the most likely cause.
Now, here comes the part that folks might not like. I don't understand why you have aftermarket wires. They don't give you any extra power. Your engine seems to be stock and I don't think you will find anyone claiming any real benefit from the wires. If you didn't have the problem before the aftermarket wires, take them off and put some carbon core wires back on. The only difference you will notice is the quiet.

joe, i tried that, no difference with stock or aftermarket wires, same whining with rpms. i got the wires for no other reaosn than they looked good and hey lets face it, if i do go thru with all the mods i plan on, theyre a good option. thnx for input though, i do apreciate it. i think im going to just have to search for better noise filters, all grounds are ok, and i dont want to reduce gain on the amps and loose sound power/clarity, ahh well ill keep at it
