Hey guys, Please help. I just bought a used roe with a vec2 water **** widebands and lc1's
Can I replace the stock o2 sensors with the widebands or do I need both o2 and widebands? The timing and fuel maps seem daunting, is there a service where I can explain my mods and they will creates a vec card that applies to my needs?

You'll need to keep the stock O2's but you can also install the WBO's as well. They're usually installed in the turnout pipes. There's a very detailed how-to in the illustrated upgrade section that details the LC-1 installation and hooking it up to the Vec unit. You'll need this info for your WBO needs. It's worth the membership fee. I'd also contact Sean Roe at Roe Racing (he developed the S.C. and Vec). He can absolutely create Vec programs for you. In fact, I think he'll recondition used Roe units. You may want to look into that.

Tell us more about your mods. In addition to the S.C. have you done any exhaust, header, cat upgrades? Anythin done to your engine? Viper Year/Model? Where are you located? There may be tuners in your area that know how to tune with a Vec. Details please!

Talk to Sean, or Dave at ROE. I bought a used Roe Blower/water ****/vec 2 and airbox back in November. They were a great help in going over the kit and figuring out what gaskets, etc.. i needed. They also burned me new cards for the boost level (6.5psi) and mods on my car, and upgraded the VEC and harness to the latest version at a small cost. I'm still waiting for parts to get back from the powder coater. I'm doing a black/chrome engine theme. I also sent out the injectors to be cleaned by Tony Armour here on the VCA. Hopefully i will be installing this weekend, then getting it dyno tuned sometime before the track opens in March. I would also think about changing your stock cats.

Do you recommend removing the cats or installing high flow units?

I would call parts rack and let John know what you are looking for sound wise, he really knows viper exhausts. My current exhaust (stock manifolds, random tech 3" cats, 3" corsa cat back) sounds exactly as he described. Before that i had Borla headers, b&b cats, and a b&b cat back. I took it off the car after a week. Sounded great at idle but was way too loud everywhere else in the rpm band. Plus i didn't like the tone. My current mods are corsa cat back, random tech cats, and filters/smooth tubes and it dynoed 430hp / 475 tq on a dynojet last year with 5,000 miles. I'll post my new results soon hopefully.

I personally prefer going with the HF cats. As noted, no cats can be pretty loud.

The WBO's are not absolutely needed unless you are doing your own tuning, but at a minimum they allow you to keep an eye on the A/F tune which is very important on a Roe system. One size does not fit all and at a minimum you need to verify the tune on a dyno or hookup a laptop and log the WBOs on some street pulls. Also be aware that the tune changes significantly with the air temperature and most people have several tunes depending on what the temp is and the main reason that it is important to keep an eye on the tune of the car. A safe tune at 80 degrees can cause detonation at 40 degrees.

The VEC3 has an AIT input which is suppose to help minimize this temperature affect. My understanding is that the VEC2 can be upgraded with that capability and I need to contact Roe myself about getting my VEC2 upgraded.
