Roe Supercharger help please!

Did any of you guys who installed their own Roe supercharger have any hood clearence problems?
my install is complete but can't close the hood due to the top of the supercharger contacting the hood pad before the final latched position. Any ideas on the best way to overcome this?

Just had a pedestrian thought: Any chance your engine is not fully settled in motor mounts?

If you got a 2.8 SC instead of a 2.4, that is causing the issue. Check the numbers on the side of the SC.

You can post a picture of the blower to verify, doubtful it's a 2.8 since there are only a couple that have been modified. My 2.8L rubs slightly, but that's because my customized air intake is about 1/16" too high. An unmodified blower set up should not hit unless your motor mounts are higher.

I have had my roe supercharger on my 1997 since around 2002 and never had any part of it touch my hood.

Thanks for the ideas guys, i installed new OEM motor & trany mounts as part of the instal. The mounts seem to be in place, all the way to the bottom of the slot (picture attached). Am I missing a trick with the mounts, is there another way that they could not be fully seated?

The blower is a 2.4.

Any ideas at all are much appreciated!

Is the nut tight in the picture you posted? It appears to have no thread protrusion indicating something isn't right...

Speedracer, very well spotted. I took the picture after I had loosened the nut to see if there was any way it might slip down further on the mounts. It was fully tightened before this. I'm really running out of ideas here so if anyone can think of anything to try that would be great. I am now presuming that I am the first person to have this problem???

If the mounts are installed correctly, then I guess that there is a possibility that they are the wrong part, or possibly made wrong (too thick). That seems a very remote possibility; but, I know of another Dodge OEM part (upper radiator hose) which was produced incorrectly in a later production run, and does not fit correctly. However, I have been reading the forums since 2006 and can't remember anyone posting a similar issue. (Chuck Tator or Tom Sessions would have knowledge of a bad stock part, for sure.) What you really need is some way to compare the height of your engine versus someone else's. That's probably not easy to do where you live. You need to determine if the block is higher than it should be, or if it has something to do with your supercharger.

The Roe's are a tight fit. I had to notch out a small piece of the hood liner in mine because the pulley was slightly rubbing. Good luck man

Thanks guys, Steve was kind enough to take measurements for me that determined that the block is sitting at the right hight. Going to give it a bit more force and see if it closes, also may need to notch out a little hood pad as freetogo has done. Won't have a chance to work on the car till tomorrow but will let everyone know how it goes. Thanks for all your help!

Whatever you notch out, be sure and put some heat reflective tape in its place.

Well the hood closed without any problem, I think I was just over worried about that beautiful fibreglass hood! Having now taken the car out for its first supercharged run (it was awesome!!!), iv come back and checked for any signs of rubbing and there apears to be none. Delighted with the end results!!
